Queue management in a forwarder

Systems and computer program products for performing retransmission of data packets over a network. A node receives a data packet with a source and a destination address. The data packet is sent along a network path to the destination address, and information associated with the data packet is sent to a controller node that is independent of the network path. A controller receives information associated with a data packet from any forwarder node within a plurality of forwarder nodes each monitoring communications along separate communications paths. An indication of a receipt acknowledgement for the data packet is received from a second forwarder node that is separate from the first forwarder node and the controller node. The receipt acknowledgement is correlated with the data packet and based on the correlating, data associated with retransmission processing of the data packet is deleted.

A method comprises analyzing, by a machine-learning model, a first network communication with a first set of inputs. The method also comprises inferring, by the machine-learning model and based on the analyzing, that a first device that is a party to the first network communication exhibits a device property. The method also comprises extracting, from the machine-learning model, a first set of significant inputs that had a significant impact on the determining. The method also comprises creating, using the first set of inputs, a rule for identifying the device property. The rule establishes a condition that, when present in a network communication, implies that a party to the network communication exhibits the device property.

Techniques for adaptive asynchronous federated learning are described herein. An aspect includes providing a first version of a global parameter to a first client and a second client. Another aspect includes receiving, from the first client, a first gradient, wherein the first gradient was computed by the first client based on the first version of the global parameter and a respective first local dataset of the first client. Another aspect includes determining whether the first version of the global parameter matches a most recent version of the global parameter. Another aspect includes, based on determining that the first version of the global parameter does not match the most recent version of the global parameter, selecting a version of the global parameter. Another aspect includes aggregating the first gradient with the selected version of the global parameter to determine an updated version of the global parameter.

Automatic protocol discovery using text analytics

A computer program product is provided for fault diagnostics and recovery of network service chains. The product includes a computer readable storage medium having program instructions embodied therewith. The program instructions are executable by a computer to cause the computer to perform a method. The method includes identifying intersecting ones of components of the network service chains in a network graph indicative of a commonality therebetween. The method further includes selectively repairing one or more of the components of at least one of the network service chains up to an entirety thereof based on a component repair sequence that maintains service continuity of the network service chains and that is determined and selectively reordered based on the commonality. The network graph includes a plurality of graphs, each (i) including one or more Virtualized Network Functions, and (ii) corresponding to a respective one of the network service chains.

Mechanism for fault diagnosis and recovery of network service chains

A computer-implemented method is provided for fault diagnostics and recovery of network service chains. The method includes identifying, by a processor, intersecting ones of components of the network service chains in a network graph indicative of a commonality therebetween. The network graph represents the components of the network service chains. The method further includes selectively repairing, by the processor, one or more of the components of at least one of the network service chains up to an entirety thereof based on a component repair sequence that maintains service continuity of the network service chains and that is determined and selectively reordered based on the commonality. In an embodiment, a method includes predicting, based on the set of identification information, a device type of the device. Device identification and reconfiguration in a network

A computer-implemented method is provided for supporting virtual machine and/or container live migration. The method may include hosting a virtual machine (VM) at a first location to be migrated to a second location by sending VM data packets from the first location to the second location and detecting a predetermined event associated with the VM at the first location. The method may further include prompting, in response to detection of the predetermined event, the redirection of the VM data packets from the first location to a buffer associated with the second location and storing the VM data packets in the buffer. The method may further include detecting an end of the predetermined event associated with the first location, and redirecting, in response to the end of the predetermined event, the VM data packets stored in the buffer to the VM migrated to the second location.

Name based Internet of Things (IoT) discovery includes receiving domain name system (DNS) events. An Internet Protocol (IP) address to name mapping is built based on the DNS events. A data communication event occurring in a computer network is received. A destination IP address in the data communication event is mapped to a domain name by querying the IP address to name mapping. Whether the data communication event is associated with an IoT device is determined based on the domain name satisfying a rule.
