A modular optronic periscope includes a staring module, having a plurality of static sensors providing image data for a wide field of view at moderate resolution, and an image processor, by way of which image data from the static sensors are stitched together into a single continuous image. A multi-spectral, narrow field of view at a higher resolution than the staring module is produced using a pointing module including a rotatable mirror, and a collimated optical bundle from the pointing module is imaged by way of an optical platform onto photosensitive devices to form a two dimensional image array. Each pixel of the image array is repositioned by way of image derotation circuitry before display.

Modular optronic periscope

A system for low-latency, high-resolution, continuous motion panoramic video imaging includes a plurality of high-resolution video cameras, each video camera generating about at least 500 kilopixel near-real time video. The cameras can be supported for positioning the plurality of cameras at predetermined angular locations to generate a full 360 degree field of view. The system can also include an image processor for processing video image signals in parallel and providing panoramic images. In one embodiment, the system can include a display to provide seamless panoramic images.

Panoramic video imaging and display system

An optical system providing a rotating scan disc including a circular array of concave reflectors on a planar surface thereof and imaging means adapted to coincide with the scanning sweep of the concave reflectors and separated from the concave reflectors by a distance equal to the focal length of the concave reflectors. A light source is provided to emit a light beam toward the circular array of concave reflectors to form an image redirected from the imaging means and the imaging means includes an objective mirror and a strip prism adapted to correct field curvature of the image. Additionally, means are provided to monitor the position of the light beam in both the scan and cross-scan directions and to reposition the light beam by movement of at least one optical component.
