A battery management system is provided. The battery management system includes a controller comprising at least one processor and at least one memory. The at least one memory comprising instructions executed by the at least one processor to receive load information about a load from a load sensor, receive battery operating information from a battery sensor, determine a number of battery modules needed to supply the load and operate each battery module at or below a preferred discharge rate based on the load information and the battery operating information, select a group of battery modules included in the battery based on the number of battery modules and the battery operating information, each battery module included in the group of batteries having a current depth of discharge within the preferred depth of discharge range, and instruct the battery to supply the load using the group of battery modules.

Battery management systems and methods

A cooling module for a battery pack assembly is disclosed. The cooling module includes a frame having a plurality of legs forming an opening through a central portion of the frame, at least one of the plurality of legs including a slot formed therethrough. A cooling fin is coupled to the frame. The cooling fin includes a corrugated plate interposed between a first plate and a second plate forming a plurality of fluid flow channels between the first plate and the second plate. The cooling modules are disposed in a stack having at least one battery cell disposed between adjacent cooling modules. The battery cell is in heat transfer communication with the cooling fin of at least one cooling module, wherein the cooling fin facilitates a transfer of heat energy between the battery cell and the flow channels formed in the cooling fin.

Corrugated fin and frame assembly for battery cooling

A molded cooling fin and frame is described. The molded cooling fin and frame includes a corrugated center cooling fin; a pair of outer cooling fins on opposite sides of the corrugated center cooling fin, each of the outer cooling fins having a ridge around an edge; and a frame covering an edge of each of the outer cooling fins, the frame sealed to the edge of each of the outer cooling fins. A battery pack including the molded cooling fin and frame and a method of making the molded cooling fin and frame are also described.

A fuel injection system includes a fuel body having a compact fuel chamber connected through individual flexible fuel tubes with separate fuel injectors mounted on the separate cylinder inlet passages of an engine. The system may have an integral fuel pressure regulator or the regulator may be located separately, for example with the fuel pump in a vehicle fuel tank. The pressure regulator may include a unitized diaphragm and valve assembly which may be dropped into a housing with a valve seat in the fuel body and enclosed by cover and spring means to form an integrated system. The unitized assembly can also be used in other applications. Pulsation damping may be provided by a flexible wall of the fuel chamber. The flexible wall may be the pressure regulator diaphragm or a resilient wall designed for the purpose.

Fuel injection system

An exhaust gas recirculation valve assembly for controlling the recirculation of exhaust gases in an internal combustion engine having a base with an exhaust gas chamber formed therein, a cover closing the chamber, a valve member mounted within the exhaust gas chamber for metering exhaust gas passage through the chamber, an actuator energizable to operate the valve within the exhaust gas chamber and a heat deflector assembly placed between the cover and the base to reduce heat transfer from the exhaust gas chamber to the actuator. The heat deflector assembly is constructed of a first gasket member which is configured to form a seal between the cover and the base and the second heat deflector member mounted to the lower surface of the gasket member, facing the exhaust gas chamber and separating the gasket member from direct impingement of exhaust gases thereon. As a result, durability of the insulative gasket member is ensured.

Exhaust gas recirculation valve assembly

An exhaust gas recirculation valve assembly for controlling the recirculation of exhaust gas in an internal combustion engine having a base with an exhaust gas chamber formed therein, a valve member mounted within the exhaust gas chamber for metering the flow of exhaust gas therethrough, a one piece bearing having upper and lower bearing members for precise positioning of the valve member within the exhaust gas chamber, and a valve stem support assembly for mounting the valve stem relative to the actuator having means for allowing lateral movement between the actuator and the valve member thereby eliminating side-to-side loading and resultant binding of the precisely positioned valve member within the bearing.

A vacuum regulator valve unit has a valve body and a coil assembly that define a chamber. The valve body has an air inlet passage opening into the chamber. A washer overlies the valve body within the chamber and has an air inlet port aligned with the passage and a valve seat surrounding the port. The coil assembly supports a shaft projecting into the chamber. A valve member is mounted loosely on the shaft within the chamber and slides on the shaft into and out of engagement with the valve seat in response to energization and deenergization of the coil. The valve body has a peripheral annular ledge that cambers the washer to assure full engagement of the washer with the valve body at the perimeter of the port. The shaft has an undercut taper that articulates the valve member to allow the valve member to align with the valve set and thereby assure full engagement of the valve member with the valve seat.
