A process for preparing a condensed polyalkoxyphosphazene by reacting a halophosphazene oligomer with an alcohol in the presence of an alkali metal carbonate to produce a condensed partially alkoxy-substituted phosphazene, removing water produced in the reaction from the reaction mixture, and reacting the condensed partially alkoxy-substituted phosphazene with an alkali metal alkoxide. The condensed polyalkoxyphosphazene having desired average molecular weight and viscosity and an excellent stability can be easily prepared in a high yield in a low cost.

Process for preparing condensed polyalkoxyphosphazene

A thermistor using an organophosphazene polymer having aryloxyl and/or alkoxyl group pendants as a thermo-responsive material. The organophosphazene polymer has an excellent responsiveness to temperature change, and can be molded into desired forms. The thermistor having good reliability and good heat and flame resistances can be prepared with good processability and in good yield.

An anti-blooming flame retarder consisting essentially of a water-soluble flame retardant agent and a water-soluble polymer, which is particularly suited for use in treating improved woods such as fiber-boards and plywoods. The improved woods are treated with the anti-blooming flame retarder and heat-treated.

A water-soluble flame retarder comprising a condensed ammonium phosphate having an average degree of condensation of not more than 60 and a mixture of urea compounds produced from urea in the presence of a condensed ammonium phosphate, the mixture containing biuret and triuret. The flame retarder is advantageously prepared by reacting urea and phosphoric acid in a particular manner to by-produce particular amounts of biuret and triuret.
