A scroll compressor that suffers no decrease in compression performance due to leakage resulting from a twisting assembly error is provided. This scroll compressor includes a fixed scroll and an orbiting scroll, each including a spiral wrap protruding from an end plate and having the same tooth thickness (Tr) and the same base-circle radius (b) defining an involute surface. The fixed scroll and the orbiting scroll are offset from each other by an orbiting radius (&#x3c1;) and mesh such that the respective wraps face each other with a phase shift of 180&#xb0;. The orbiting scroll revolves/orbits along a circular orbit with the orbiting radius (&#x3c1;) to compress a gas while a rotation-preventing mechanism prevents rotation of the orbiting scroll.

In a scroll compressor comprising: a fixed scroll member and a revolving scroll member; a driven crank mechanism for driving the revolving scroll member to revolutionary turn; and a pin-and-ring type self rotation preventing mechanism provided in plural places for preventing self rotation of a revolving scroll member, at least one of the self rotation preventing pin, the self rotation preventing ring and the self rotation preventing ring hole, which form the pin-and-ring type self rotation preventing mechanism, is provided with an orbit correction part for reducing a maximum displacement R in a direction of self rotation of the revolving scroll member to smooth a change of an orbit of the revolving scroll member in changing a pin and a ring in a section of prevention of self rotation by means of a corresponding pin and ring part.

Scroll compressor with improved rotation prevention mechanism

In a scroll compressor, a center of a turning scroll body is shifted with respect to a drive central axis so that a distance between a gravity center and the drive central axis in a turning scroll becomes smaller than a predetermined allowable value set based on theoretical displacement and mass of the turning scroll. A moment force about the drive central axis acting on the turning scroll is reduced during revolving, and an alternating force acting on an autorotation preventing pin in the turning scroll is reduced to an allowable level.

A scroll compressor includes a fixed scroll and an orbiting scroll, each including a spiral wrap protruding from an end plate and having the same tooth thickness (Tr) and the same base-circle radius (b) defining an involute surface. A scroll compressor includes an orbiting scroll engaged with a front case by pins and rings or ring holes to prevent rotation of the orbiting scroll. The rings or the ring holes have such an inside diameter that an orbiting radius defined by the pins and the rings or the ring holes is larger than a theoretical orbiting radius defined by engagement between gear surfaces of a fixed scroll and the orbiting scroll. The pins, the rings, or the ring holes are shifted in such a direction as to relieve twisting of the orbiting scroll relative to the fixed scroll.

There is provided a scroll compressor in which reliability and durability is increased by preventing peeling of a coating layer applied to a thrust plate, to maintain a desired level of lubrication for a long period of time. The scroll compressor has a thrust plate, a coating which is applied to a surface of the thrust plate, a housing having a thrust bearing face to which the thrust plate is attached, an orbiting scroll member having a slide face which is supported by the thrust plate and which orbits while sliding, and a peeling prevention part which reduces a sliding pressure acting on an edge portion of the thrust plate from the slide face.

In a scroll compressor where a scroll compression mechanism is housed within a housing having a funnel shaped, a compression mechanism main body of the scroll compression mechanism is arranged in a wide opening section of a front housing, and a compression mechanism driving section is arranged in a narrow section, a concave section is formed on the outside of a thrust receiving surface which is positioned on a bottom surface of the wide opening section and which supports the compression mechanism.

Fluid machine and scroll compressor having a crankshaft with a large diameter shaft section

A scroll compressor comprises a fixed scroll having a spiral-shaped wall body, and a swiveling scroll which has a spiral-shaped wall body and revolves while linking together the two wall bodies; the wall bodies have steps, and side faces of two end plates have high and low bottom faces in correspondence with the steps; a tip seal is provided along a join edge which connects top edges on different sides of each step, and a mechanism is provided therebetween to prevent the tip seals from becoming removed from the join edges. Furthermore, in the same scroll compressor, tip seals are provided respectively in two grooves, and join paths are provided respectively between a high-pressure compression chamber, which is formed with the bottom faces as one section, and the two grooves; the pressure inside the high-pressure compression chamber is used as a pressing force for the tip seals.

Scroll compressor sealing

A scroll compressor comprises a fixed scroll member and a revolving scroll member that engage with each other with their centrifugal walls, wherein the revolving scroll member is supported to revolve with respect to the fixed scroll member, but to avoid self-rotation thereof. The spiral-starting portion of the centrifugal wall comprises non-stepped portions formed along curves of &bgr; &prime; and &bgr; &prime; respectively, and a stepped portion formed along a curve &bgr; &prime; that provides a thickness increase area encompassed by its upper-side curved surface and its lower-side curved surface. The discharge port is located on the end board of the fixed scroll member to partly overlap with the thickness increase area by partly hollowing the lower side of the stepped portion with the prescribed height.

A scroll compressor including a fixed scroll having a spiral-shaped wall body, and a swiveling scroll which has a spiral-shaped wall body and revolves while linking together the two wall bodies. The pressure inside the high-pressure compression chamber is used as a pressing force for the tip seals.

A compressor assembled under desirable working conditions at a low cost is disclosed. In the compressor, the first rolling bearing for permitting axial movement of the shaft is inserted into the first housing from the side where the compression mechanism is to be provided, and the second rolling bearing for restricting axial movement of the shaft is inserted into the first housing from the other side where the driving source is to be provided. The shaft is inserted into the first housing from the side where the compression mechanism is to be provided. A seal member is further provided between the rolling bearings for sealing an area between the insertion hole and the shaft, wherein the seal member is inserted into the insertion hole of the first housing from the side where the compression mechanism is to be provided before the shaft is inserted into the insertion hole.

A scroll compressor having a simple structure is disclosed, which effectively decreases the thrust load imposed on the revolving scroll without degrading the compression efficiency. The scroll compressor includes a casing; a fixed scroll provided in the housing and comprising an end plate and a spiral protrusion built on one face of the end plate; and a revolving scroll provided in the casing and comprising an end plate and a spiral protrusion built on one face of the end plate, wherein the spiral protrusions of each scroll are engaged with each other so as to form a spiral compression chamber. In the above structure, an introduced working gas is compressed in the compression chamber and then discharged according to the revolution of the revolving scroll; a thrust member for thrust-supporting the end plate of the revolving scroll is provided at the back-face side of the end plate of the revolving scroll; a pressure pocket is formed in a face of one of the thrust member and the end plate of the revolving scroll, wherein the face faces the other of the thrust member and the end plate of the revolving scroll; and a high-pressure introduction hole for introducing a high-pressure fluid into the pressure pocket is provided at one of the thrust member side and the revolving scroll side.

A thrust ball bearing provided in an open scroll-type compressor can withstand a large compressive load on the bearing and prevents wear of the mating surfaces. The thrust ball bearing has a first thrust plate,for performing spiral revolution; a second thrust plate,opposing the first thrust plate,; and a retaining device,disposed between the thrust plates,and provided with retaining cavities,for retaining a ball,in each cavity where a radius &rgr; of spiral revolution of the first plate, a diameter d of the ball and a diameter D of the retaining cavity are related by an expression D&gE;d&times;&rgr;.

Thrust ball bearing and open-type scroll compressor

A scroll compressor comprising a discharge port as small as possible is disclosed, which requires less recompressive force and has improved operational ability. The scroll compressor comprises a casing; a fixed scroll, movable in its axial direction, provided in the housing and comprising an end plate and a spiral protrusion built on one face of the end plate; a revolving scroll provided in the casing and comprising an end plate and a spiral protrusion built on one face of the end plate, wherein the spiral protrusions of each scroll are engaged with each other so as to form a spiral compression chamber; and a back pressure block for supporting the back face of the fixed scroll. In the structure, an introduced working gas is compressed in the compression chamber and then discharged according to the revolving operation of the revolving scroll; a discharge port joining the compression chamber is formed in the end plate of the fixed scroll; the back pressure block has a ring shape, and the inner-peripheral face of the back pressure block and the back face of the fixed scroll form a high-pressure chamber; and a discharge valve for opening and closing the discharge port is attached to the end plate of the fixed scroll and is provided in the high-pressure chamber.
