A non-contact ultrasonic tonometer for measuring the eye pressure of an examinee's eye by use of ultrasound includes a Langevin transducer. The Langevin transducer applies ultrasound to the examinee's eye to measure the eye pressure of the examinee's eye. Further, A non-contact ultrasonic tonometer for measuring the eye pressure of an examinee's eye by use of ultrasound includes: ultrasonic generating means for generating ultrasound; a support base supporting the ultrasonic generating means; and attaching means for attaching the ultrasonic generating means to the support base.

Non-contact ultrasonic ophthalmotonometer

An ultrasonic tonometer for measuring the eye pressure of an examinee's eye by means of an ultrasonic wave includes an ultrasonic actuator having an ultrasonic element and configured to irradiate the examinee's eye with the ultrasonic wave, and current adjustment means configured to adjust a current applied to the ultrasonic element to control the sound pressure or acoustic radiation pressure of the ultrasonic wave. With this configuration, the ultrasonic tonometer solving at least one of typical problems can be provided. For example, the ultrasonic tonometer capable of properly irradiating the examinee's eye with the ultrasonic wave can be provided.

Ultrasonic tonometer

A non-contact ultrasonic tonometer for measuring intraocular pressure of an examinee's eye, in non-contact manner by use of an ultrasonic wave comprises: a probe including a vibrator for making the ultrasonic wave incident on the examinee's eye and a sensor for detecting the ultrasonic wave reflected from the examinee's eye; and an observation optical system for observing an anterior segment of the eye, wherein the probe is placed in an optical path of the observation optical system, and the observation optical system forms an image of the anterior segment through a surrounding region of the probe.

Non-contact ultrasonic tonometer

A non-contact ultrasonic tonometer for measuring an intraocular pressure of an examinee's eye in non-contact manner by use of an ultrasonic wave, comprises: an ultrasonic transducer including a transmitter which emits an ultrasonic transmission pulse wave to the eye and a receiver which detects an ultrasonic reflection pulse wave from the eye, the transducer being arranged to be placed in a position apart from the eye and to transmit and receive the pulse wave with respect to the eye through the medium of air; and a calculation part being arranged to obtain a peak amplitude level of the reflection pulse wave based on an output signal from the ultrasonic transducer and measure the intraocular pressure based on the obtained peak amplitude level.

A non-contact ultrasonic tonometer for measuring intraocular pressure of an examinee's eye in non-contact manner by use of an ultrasonic wave comprises: a probe including a vibrator for making the ultrasonic wave incident on the eye and a sensor for detecting the ultrasonic wave reflected from the eye; a detection unit which detects an alignment state of the probe with respect to the eye; a determination unit which determines whether the alignment state is proper or not based on a detection result of the detection unit; a trigger signal generation unit which generates a trigger signal to start measurement based on a determination result of the determination unit; and a control unit which controls the probe to emit the ultrasonic wave based on generation of the trigger signal.

An eye axial length measurement apparatus includes a light source, a non-contact eye axial length measurement unit for optically measuring axial length of a patient's eye in non-contact manner, an XYZ driving unit, and a determination means which determines whether a cloudy portion which is an obstacle to measurement by the non-contact eye axial length measurement unit is present, based on one of a measurement result of the non-contact eye axial length measurement unit and an imaging result of an anterior segment section imaging unit placeable in the non-contact eye axial length measurement unit.

To provide an ophthalmic ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus capable of obtaining measurement result with high reliability without lengthy measurement. The apparatus which measures constituent parts of an eye through A-mode includes an ultrasonic probe for A-mode measurement including a transducer emitting an ultrasonic wave into the eye and receiving reflected echoes from tissues of the parts, calculation means for judging whether signals of the echoes are appropriate and calculating measurement values of the parts based on the signals, a memory storing the calculated values, grouping means for setting grouping ranges having predetermined ranges of permissible dispersion with reference to the measurement values and determining that either the grouping range previously set or the grouping range newly set based on the obtained measurement value remains, and central value calculating means counting the numbers of the measurement values falling within the grouping ranges and calculating a central value based on the measurement values.

An ophthalmic apparatus with which it is easy to open eyelids of an examinee at the time of intraocular pressure measurement has a measurement unit including an measurement part measuring intraocular pressure by blowing fluid to a cornea of an examinee's eye via a nozzle to deform the cornea and a measurement part having a measurement optical system for measuring eye characteristics of the eye, wherein the intraocular pressure measurement part is placed above the eye characteristic measurement part, a device making a selective changeover between an intraocular pressure measurement mode and an eye characteristic measurement mode, and a first movement mechanism part moving the measurement unit in an up-and-down direction with respect to the eye so that a measurement optical axis of either of the measurement parts to be used for the selected mode is positioned at approximately the same height as the examinee's eye.

Ophthalmic apparatus

An ophthalmic apparatus comprising: an illuminating optical system which projects light to an examinee' eye; an image pickup unit which color-photographs an interference image caused by interference of light reflected by a tear layer of the eye; and an analyzing part which dissolves the photographed interference image to a plurality of color components, determines an appearance of interference stripes of each color component based on a signal of each color component, and obtains a value indicating a dry eye symptom based on at least one of the number of interference stripes of each color component and changes in signal level of each color component.

A non-contact type tonometer includes a fluid blowing device which blows fluid against a cornea of an eye of an examinee; an intraocular pressure measurement part which detects a deformed state of the cornea caused by the blown fluid and determines intraocular pressure of the examinee's eye based on a result of detection of the deformed state; a pulsation detection part which detects pulsation of the examinee; a measurement timing determination part which can determine a measurement timing based on the detected pulsation to obtain a predetermined number of results of measurement on the intraocular pressure in synchronization with different phase points in the pulsation; a command signal input part which inputs a command signal for execution of the measurement; and a control part which outputs a control signal for controlling driving of the fluid blowing device based on the determined measurement timing and the input command signal.

Non-contact type tonometer

A noncontact type tonometer monitors the rate of change X(t) in pressure between a standard curve and a measured curve. If X(t) exceeds a value of 1.3, the application of air pressure is stopped to prevent an abnormal rise in pressure. If X(t) is equal to 1, then the measured curve follows the standard curve and correction is not required. If X(t) is not equal to 1, an error condition exists and an amended time t&prime; is calculated based on the rate of change X(t). Instead of a calculated amended time, an approximated standard curve can also be determined based on either an equation stored in a memory or by matching the measured curve with one of a plurality of standard curves stored in memory.

Noncontact type tonometer

A non-contact type tonometer includes a compressed air blowing unit which compresses air in a cylinder by means of a piston disposed within the cylinder and blows the compressed air to a cornea of an examinee's eye; a driving unit which drives the piston; a pressure sensor which detects pressure of the air in the cylinder; an optical system which projects light to the cornea; a photosensor which detects, of the light projected by the optical system, reflection light reflected from the cornea; and a controller which obtains a change in pressure for a predetermined time based on a detection result by the pressure sensor when the photosensor detects a predetermined change amount of the reflection light after the driving unit drives the piston to start blowing of the compressed air to the cornea from the compressed air blowing unit, and changes a timing of stopping supply of driving power to the driving unit based on the obtained change in pressure.

An ophthalmic apparatus for observing an eye to be examined is disclosed. This apparatus includes an observation optical system including an objective lens, for observing the eye through the objective lens; an illumination optical system including an illumination light source, for illuminating the eye through the objective lens; a polarization beam splitter having a property of transmitting one of linear polarized light beams that mutually perpendicularly intersect, and reflecting another linear polarized light beam, the polarization beam splitter being disposed opposite to the eye to be examined with respect to the objective lens, whereby aligning optical paths of the illumination and observation optical systems in a mutually coaxial relation; and a &frac14; wave plate disposed between the objective lens and the eye to be examined.

An ophthalmic apparatus for measuring dryness of a cornea of an eye to be examined, the apparatus comprising a projecting optical system including a light source for projecting measurement light onto the cornea, a detecting optical system including a photodetector for detecting reflected light from a tear film by projecting the measurement light, an arithmetic device for measuring time-varying changes in the dryness of a predetermined measurement region based on a result detected by the photodetector, and an output device for outputting a measurement result obtained by the arithmetic device.
