A plurality of current patterns with regard to driving current which flows in a driving motor for a ribbon winding shaft are set in advance. The driving motor is driven based on the current pattern selected from a plurality of current patterns on an operation panel. The plurality of current patterns are set in advance so that the tension applied to the ink ribbon, which is between a printing head and a ribbon winding shaft, is an approximate predetermined value from the start to the end of ribbon winding according to the kind of the ink ribbon installed on a ribbon supply shaft.

Printer using ink ribbon

An electronic thermometer includes a display device for displaying a temperature of an associated object under temperature measurement in a predetermined display digit number. A temperature measurement device generates a temperature measurement signal based on the temperature of the associated object. A computation device is provided for computing a temperature value of a digit number larger than the predetermined display digit number to be displayed on the display device on the basis of the temperature measurement signal. A control device controls the display device to display a first temperature value portion and a second temperature value portion. The first portion is displayed with a first set of predetermined digits and the second portion is displayed with a second set of predetermined digits, including any digit or digits other than the first predetermined digits.

Electronic thermometer

A braking mechanism which applies tension to an ink ribbon is provided. The braking mechanism comprises: a first friction member which is fitted to a supply shaft to rotate and support the ink ribbon and is rotated as one body together with the supply shaft; a second friction member which is fitted to the supply shaft in such a way that relative rotation can be realized and for which absolute rotation at least in one direction is restricted and relative axial movement to the supply shaft can be realized; an operation member which is screwed into a screwed section formed on the supply shaft; and an energizing member which is arranged between the operation member and the second friction member and which presses the second friction member for energizing the second friction member.

Material-feeding device having direction-correcting function

A radiation thermometer which starts body temperature measuring operations when a temperature measurement switch is pressed, inserts a probe into an opening of a living being, receives an infrared ray from within the opening and computes a temperature, and displays a maximum value of measured temperature data as a body temperature, for the purpose of avoiding temperature measurement and displaying of a temperature executed by manipulation of the temperature measurement start switch after insertion of the probe into an opening of a living being, a careless manipulation of the switch after insertion into an external acoustic opening despite a previous normal manipulation of the switch before insertion, etc., comprises an operation judging means which determines whether the temperature measurement start switch is appropriately manipulated, such that the radiation thermometer issues a warning which is indicative of an erroneous operation or an erroneous operation does not influence normal temperature measuring operations.

Radiation thermometer

A print head for a dot matrix printer has a head body, a plurality of print needles slidably mounted in the head body, a plurality of armatures, each corresponding to the print needle, an electromagnet provided on the head body for attracting a corresponding armature for actuating the print needles. The guide grooves are formed in the head body, corresponding to the armatures. An end portion of the armature is inserted in the guide groove so as to be guided during printing operation.

Print head for a dot matrix printer

A print head for a dot matrix printer has a plurality of print needles slidably mounted in the head, a plurality of armatures operatively connected to the print needles, a plurality of electromagnets for respectively operating the armatures, a center ring for stopping the armature attracted by the electromagnet, and a residual sheet mounted on a core of each of the electromagnets for preventing the armature from sticking to the core.

An electrical connection device for a printing head of a dot printer and a drive circuit therefor, which comprises flexible printed circuits easily connectable to solenoids accommodated in the printing head, and a male connector connected to these circuits. The male connector has electrically conductive pins arranged to be detachably engaged with socket terminals of a female connector fixed to a carriage, the socket terminals being connected to the drive circuit through a flat cable. To mount the printing head onto the carriage, the male connector is plugged into the female connector, while the flexible printed circuits and a flexible hook member are received in a receiving section of the carriage. Disconnection of the printing head from the carriage can be easily made by simply releasing the engagement between the two connectors with the use of the hook member. The flat cable well withstands repetitive bending attributable to reciprocal movement of the printing head.

Device for electrical connection between printing head and drive circuit

A print head is provided with armatures, each having a stylus section and a plunger in an opposite position, the armatures each having the middle section that serves as a fulcrum for rotation. A plurality of first flat springs act on the armatures to that the armatures are biased in direction bias the armatures in a direction returning the armatures against the bias forces by the first flat springs.

Print head with energizing and return leaf springs

A dot matrix double print head including a front actuator and a rear actuator is disclosed. Each actuators has a print wire unit in which a plurality of print wires are slidably mounted, a plurality of electromagnets, and a plurality of armatures corresponding to the number of electromagnets. The length of the armature of the rear actuator is smaller than that of the front actuator, and thereby the moments of inertia of each of the armatures and print wires of both the actuators approach each other.

Double print head

A dot matrix print head comprises a print wire unit in which a plurality of print wires are slidably mounted, an electromagnet unit having a plurality of electromagnets, and an armature unit secured to the electromagnet unit. The armature unit has a cover, a spring plate having a plurality of projections, and a plurality of armatures. Each armature has a projection which is engaged with a hole formed in a sub-yoke. The engagement of the projection is kept by the projection of the spring plate.
