A vibration damping mount capable of reducing vibration and noise, and improving vehicle stability and controllability. Between an inner cylindrical sleeve and outer cylindrical sleeve which are coaxially arranged with each other, a vibration-damping rubber body is disposed and joined thereto. A stopper plate is secured to a lower end of the inner cylindrical sleeve. The vibration-damping rubber body extends from the lower end thereof along a flange which projects outward from a lower end of the outer cylindrical sleeve to define an annular rubber stopper. An end edge of the annular rubber stopper abuts a peripheral part of the stopper plate. A rubber spacer is disposed in an annular space defined by the rubber stopper, vibration-damping rubber body and stopper plate so as to be compressed and generate a reaction force upon obliquely applied loads due to the relative displacement between the inner sleeve and outer sleeve, thereby reducing vibration and noise with friction damping, and improving vehicle stability and controllability against the obliquely applied loads by applying an increased spring constant upwardly.

Vibration-damping mount

A liquid-sealing type vibration isolating apparatus including a first coupling member attached to a vibrator; a second coupling member attached to a member in a vehicle body; an insulator interposed between the coupling members, for absorbing and isolating vibration from the vibrator; a vibration isolating mechanism composed of a main chamber having a chamber wall formed by a portion of the insulator, and charged therein with liquid, an auxiliary chamber communicated with the main chamber through an orifice and having a chamber wall a portion of which is formed by a first diaphragm, an air chamber partitioned from the auxiliary chamber across the first diaphragm, and an equilibrium chamber partitioned from the auxiliary chamber across a second diaphragm; a selector for carrying out change-over operation so as to introduce negative pressure or the atmospheric pressure into the equilibrium chamber in the vibration isolating mechanism control for controlling the change-over operation of the selector, a negative pressure tank provided between a negative pressure source and the selector, and a check valve formed between the negative pressure tank and the negative pressure source, for allowing introduction of only negative pressure, and a solenoid mechanism for driving the selector.

Liquid-sealing type vibration isolating apparatus

A vibration-damping rubber for a suspension of a vehicle is composed of a resilient rubber body adapted to be interposed between a plurality of members of the suspension. The resilient rubber body has a slide surface adapted to contact one of the plurality of members. One part of the resilient rubber body, which includes at least the slide surface, is composed of a rubber having high sliding characteristics.

Vibration-damping rubber in suspension of vehicle

An entire outer periphery of an axially central portion of an inner cylindrical member is expanded outwardly to define an expanding portion having a spherical configuration of which a center locates about an axial line of the inner cylindrical member. A cylindrical internal ring is disposed in about the middle between an outer cylindrical member and the inner cylindrical member coaxially and an axially central portion of the internal ring bends in conformity with the expanding portion of the inner cylindrical member. By virtue of the expanding portion and internal ring, the rigidity in the directions perpendicular to the axial direction increases. A first vibration-damping rubber member and a second vibration-damping rubber member are formed between the internal ring and the inner cylindrical member and between the internal ring and the outer cylindrical member, respectively, and annular recesses are formed in both axial end portions of the first and second vibration-damping rubber member, respectively, such that an inner end of each annular recess locates inwardly of an end edge of the expanding portion, thus decreasing the torsional rigidity.

Suspension bushing

A bushing for a vehicle suspension comprises an inner tube, an outer tube coaxially surrounding the inner tube, and a vibration isolating rubber filled between and integrally bonded to the inner and outer tubes. The inner tube has, on a part of its outer periphery, a hump portion projecting radially in a fan shape, which has an inclined surface. The outer tube has a tapered portion at one end, which is substantially identical in angle of inclination with the inclined surface of the inner tube hump portion and faces the inclined surface. A plurality of arcuate hollow portions are provided in the vibration isolating rubber to raise the compliance characteristic of the bushing in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle and thereby improve the riding comfort. Both the riding comfort and the steering stability are thereby improved.
