A piston for a compressor. The piston has a lubricating coating that slidably contacts with an inner surface of the cylinder bore. The layer is formed on the surface of the piston. The layer is formed by transferring a liquid material to the surface of the piston using printing techniques such as screen printing and roller coating.

Pistons for compressors and method and apparatus for coating the pistons

A compressor having a housing formed by joining a plurality of housing components. A plurality of muffler elements are formed integrally with the housing components along the periphery of the housing. A muffler chamber is defined in the housing by coupling the housing components to one another. A large volume chamber and a small volume chamber are defined in the muffler chamber and connected to each other. An inlet is provided in at least one of the muffler elements for drawing the gas in the discharge chamber into the large volume chamber. An outlet is provided in the muffler elements for discharging the gas in the small volume chamber into the external circuit. The arrangement and construction of the housing is such that the pressure pulses in the discharge gas are reduced, and thus vibration and noise are reduced.

Integrated muffler structure for compressors

A swash plate type compressor is provided with a plurality of cylinders and a front and rear cylinder blocks having a crank case connected to a suction port. The cylinder blocks are connected to a front and rear housing sections in order to cover the cylinders. Each housing section contains a discharge chamber. A drive shaft is rotatable supported by the cylinder blocks. One end of the drive shaft is sealed within the front housing. A swash plate is mounted on the drive shaft and is rotatably disposed within the crank case. A plurality of two-head pistons engage the swash plate via a pair of shoes. The pistons move within their respective cylinders in cooperation with the swash plate. The refrigerant is sucked into each cylinder via a suction passage, and is then compressed therein. The refrigerant is discharged into the external refrigerating circuit through the front and rear discharge chambers, .and the front and rear discharge ports. A discharge passage is provided within the drive shaft, and interconnects the front and rear discharge chambers. A valve is provided at one end of the discharge passage to control the opening of the discharge port in relation to the pressure difference between the front and rear discharge chambers.

A refrigerant compressor to be incorporated in a refrigerating circuit of a car air-conditioning system, having a suction side connected to the refrigerating circuit for receiving a refrigerant gas to be compressed, a discharge side for delivering the refrigerant gas after compression, and a bypass passageway arranged between the suction and discharge sides and constantly closed by a passageway-closing valve, and opened by the passageway-closing valve, only when the lowering of a suction pressure prevailing on the suction side to a pressure level below the atmospheric pressure level immediately after a start of the operation of the compressor at a high speed after a long non-operation of the car air-conditioning system.
