Electromagnetic shielding about a part connected with a wiring substrate is easily and reliably carried out by a simple configuration without impairing productivity. A fixed shield plate provided at a shield shell member of an electric connector mounted on a wiring substrate is disposed to be opposed to a vicinity of a substrate connecting leg portion of a contact member. A movable shield plate covering a shell opening by a moving operation is provided. At least the substrate connecting leg portion of the contact member is covered from an outer side by fixed and movable shield plates, thereby well carrying out electromagnetic shielding (shielding) with respect to the part connected with the wiring substrate. Until the movable shield plate is subjected to the moving operation, the part connected with the wiring substrate can be checked well through the shell opening.

An electrical connector for use with a circuit board including an insulating housing used to be fixed to a circuit board, a plurality of signal contacts arranged on the insulating housing along a longitudinal direction of the same, at least one ground contact provided in an arrangement of the signal contacts on the insulating housing, and a conductive shell member provided for covering partially a portion of the insulating housing and to be connected with a grounding portion of the circuit board, wherein the conductive shell member has a ground connecting reed-like portion formed thereon so as to correspond to the ground contact and both of the ground connecting reed-like portion of the conductive shell member and the ground contact are connected by means of soldering with the grounding portion of the circuit board.

A configuration in which a stand-alone plug connector is directly fitted to the wall of a product case, and in the fitting state of the stand-alone plug connector, the contact part of a contact comes in contact with the contact part of a wiring pattern conductive path exposed on the surface of a fit connecting hole, and the electrical connection of a signal transmitting medium can be performed in a simple configuration.

To allow electromagnetic shielding regarding a connecting portion between conductive contacts and a main wiring board to be excellently achieved with a simple structure without impairing productivity, a fit-in holding member being rotated from a fit-in releasing position to a fit-in acting position to maintain a state where connectors fit in together by rotation is provided with a conductive cover part covering a connecting portion between a counterpart connector and the main wiring board when the fit-in holding member is rotated to the fit-in acting position, and the connecting portion is covered with the conductive cover part. Electromagnetic shielding of that portion is performed simultaneously with the time when both of the connectors fit in together, thereby eliminating an increase in the number of manufacturing processes. Also, the connection state at the connecting portion between a conductive contact and and the main wiring board can be clearly confirmed until the fit-in holding member is rotated to the fit-in acting position.

A coaxial connector device which comprises an insulated base placed on a circuit board, a signal-joining contacting conductor fixed to the insulating base with a contact connecting portion and an signal-connecting portion, and a grounding contacting conductor fixed to the insulating base with a cylindrical side wall portion surrounding the contact connecting portion, ground-connecting portions and connecting portions for connecting the cylindrical side wall portion with each of the ground-connecting portions, wherein a groove is formed between the grounding contacting conductor and the signal-joining contacting conductor on the insulating base and at least one of the connecting portions is deformed for becoming distant from the signal-joining contacting conductor.

An electrical connector which comprises an insulated housing on which a first engaging portion is provided for engaging with a second engaging portion provided in a mating electrical connector, first contacts arranged in a predetermined direction on the insulated housing and operative to come into contact with second contacts provided in the mating electrical connector, a conductive shell for covering partially the insulated housing, and an aligning cover attached to the conductive shell and operative to cause end portions thereof in the predetermined direction to engage respectively with end portions in the predetermined direction of the mating electrical connector for aligning the insulated housing with the mating electrical connector when the first engaging portion is engaged with the second engaging portion, and with which the first engaging portion can be appropriately and smoothly put in engagement with the second engaging portion.

An electrical connector comprising a manipulative lever operative to engage with a mating electrical connector, which has a body portion and a pair of end portions connected respectively with both ends of the body portion and supported respectively by a pair of supporting structures provided in a conductive shell covering partially an insulated housing, wherein each of the end portions of the manipulative lever comprises an elongated portion stretching to be bent from the body portion and a top end portion stretching further from the elongated portion so as to extend as a whole in a first direction from an end portion to a central portion of the insulated housing, the top end portion protrudes from the elongated portion in a direction perpendicular to an imaginary central axis of the elongated portion to form a stepped portion between the elongated portion and the top end portion, and a stopper member provided in the supporting structure engages with the stepped portion so as to prevent the end portion of the manipulative lever from getting out of the supporting structure when the end portion is shifted in a second direction opposite to the first direction.

An electric connector makes it possible to achieve downsizing excellently to improve electric connection reliability by preventing deformation when fitting to a mating connector. An engaging projection projecting is provided on an opening end edge of either an insulating housing or a conductive shell. An engaging hole into which the engaging projection is inserted is provided on the other opening end edge. The insulating housing and the conductive shell are fixed to each other in a direction orthogonal to the fitting direction by inserting the engaging projection into the engaging hole so that rigidity is largely increased. The fixation mechanism of the insulating housing and the conductive shell do not project inside the insulating housing so that it is possible to reduce the height and make pitches narrow.
