According to one embodiment, there is provided an image forming device, the image forming device applying information differently for each copy to a sheet on which an image is to be formed. The image forming device includes a controller, an image forming processor, and an authenticator. The controller is configured to acquire image information, the image information including an input image to be formed on a sheet and applying information associated with each copy, in response to the input image being formed. The controller is configured to generate a composite image obtained by applying an applying image based on the applying information for each copy to the input image. The image forming processor is configured to form the composite image generated for each copy on the sheet of each copy. The authenticator is configured to authenticate a user based on a user identity.

An image reading apparatus includes a reading unit and a controller. The reading unit reads a first image on a first surface of a sheet and a second image on a second surface of the sheet and generates first and second image data, respectively. The controller determines, based on the first and second image data, whether the first image is at a first edge of the first surface and the second image is at a second edge of the second surface of the sheet. The controller combines the first and second image data into combined image data corresponding to the first and second images if both the first image is at the first edge and the second image is at the second edge. The sheet transporting unit transports a predetermined number of sheets among a plurality of the sheets. The scanner reads the sheets which are transported by the sheet transporting unit as image data. The print unit prints the image data which is read by the scanner. The input device receives an input from a user. The counter counts the number of the transported sheets. The control unit controls the sheet transporting unit and the print unit depending on the number of the transported sheets and the number of sheets which are input by the user.
