A display device includes a prism sheet between a display cell and a light guiding plate. The prism sheet includes a plurality of prisms having a constant apex angle continuously arranged in a second direction on a surface thereof opposed to a light-exiting surface of the light guiding plate. Each of ridge lines of the prisms extends in a first direction. Each prism has a first inclined face on a side on which light from the light guiding plate is incident and a second inclined face on a side reflecting the incident light. An area of the first inclined face is made smaller than an area of the second inclined face, and an area of a light-emitting region in the prism sheet is made larger than an area of a non-light-emitting region.

Display device

A display panel includes a bonded substrate which is bonded with a seal portion having an inlet portion, in which an inlet of a fluid is formed, a sealing material which seals the inlet, metal film patterns which are provided in an end portion of the bonded substrate, and external connection terminals which respectively have rectangular base portions and are provided in parallel in a transverse direction of the base portion. Each metal film pattern has a rectangular pattern base portion. The metal film patterns are provided in parallel such that the center position of the pattern base portion in the transverse direction is aligned with the center position of the base portion in the transverse direction. The width of the pattern base portion in the transverse direction is equal to or smaller than the width of the base portion in the transverse direction at the same arrangement position.

A display device is provided which includes a lower substrate and an upper substrate. An inner surface of the lower substrate and an inner surface of the upper surface face each other. A polarizing plate is disposed on an outer surface of the upper substrate, wherein the polarizing plate includes at least an inside protective film, a polarizing film and an outside protective film, which are layered on the upper substrate side in this order so that the inside protective film is adjacent to the upper substrate. An expansion axis of the outside protective film forms an angle of 30&#xb0; or more and 90&#xb0; or less with an expansion axis of the polarizing film, and an expansion axis of the inside protective film forms an angle of 0&#xb0; or more and 3&#xb0; or less with an expansion axis of the polarizing film.

A lighting device including a light source, a light guide plate, a first prism sheet which is arranged over the light guide plate, and a second prism sheet which is arranged between the first prism sheet and the light guide plate. The first prism sheet includes first prisms which are formed parallel to each other in the first direction on a first surface which is opposite to the second prism sheet, and the second prism sheet includes second prisms.

Liquid crystal display device

A liquid crystal display device includes a liquid crystal display panel, and a backlight which is arranged on a back surface of the liquid crystal display panel, wherein the backlight includes a plurality of optical sheets, and at least one optical sheet is displaced so as to adjust a viewing angle.

A display device having a pair of substrates provided so as to face each other and sandwich liquid crystal, and polarizing plates which are pasted to surfaces of the above described pair of substrates on the sides opposite to the above described liquid crystal, where the above described polarizing plates are formed of at least an inside protective film, a polarizing film and an outside protective film, which are layered on the above described substrate side in this order, an expansion axis of the above described outside protective films forms an angle of 30&#xb0; or more and 90&#xb0; or less with an expansion axis of the above described polarizing films, and an expansion axis of the above described inside protective films forms an angle of 0&#xb0; or more and 3&#xb0; or less with an expansion axis of the above described polarizing films.

Display device having polarizing plates with protective films

A liquid crystal display device includes: a first substrate; a second substrate which is placed nearer to a viewer than the first substrate, and which faces a viewer side of the first substrate; a liquid crystal sandwiched between the first substrate and the second substrate; an upper polarization plate which is placed nearer to the viewer than the second substrate, and which faces a viewer side of the second substrate; and a transparent resin plate which is placed nearer to the viewer than the upper polarization plate, and which is attached to a viewer side of the upper polarization plate with one of an adhesive material and a bonding material, the transparent resin plate includes a transparent oxide film on a face that faces the upper polarization plate, and the transparent resin plate is in close contact with the adhesive material or the bonding material through the transparent oxide film.

A reference voltage line is synchronously scanned with scanning of a scanning signal line, voltage of the reference voltage line is set to be the voltage of a common electrode, the second transistor is set to be OFF state during the reference voltage line is set in the common voltage for a pixel wherein a node between an image signal memory and said second transistor is set in a voltage so that said second transistor becomes OFF and the voltage of image signal line is set to be high voltage level when the voltage of the scanning signal line changes from low voltage level to high voltage level for the pixel wherein the node between the image signal memory and the second transistor is set in a voltage so that said second transistor becomes ON.
