An optical device includes: a host device having a first housing, a first optical connector arranged inside the first housing, and an electrical connector arranged inside the first housing; and a light-emitting device having a second optical connector optically connected to the first optical connector, an electrical plug electrically connected to the electrical connector, and a second housing accommodating the second optical connector and the electrical plug and inserted into the first housing. The second housing has a latch structure latched onto the first housing when inserted into the first housing.

Optical device

An optical wiring includes a plurality of first set groups each including a plurality of first connecting components, a plurality of second set groups each including a plurality of second connecting components, and a receptacle which has a first end face and a second end face on an opposite side of the first end face. The first set groups are connected to the first end face side and the second set groups are connected to the second end face side. The first set groups faces the second set groups through the receptacle such that a direction in which the first connecting components are arranged and a direction in which the second connecting components are arranged are perpendicular to each other, and each of the first connecting components is optically connected to a corresponding one of the second connecting components in the receptacle.

Optical wiring and optical connection method

An optical connector jig for connecting a second optical connector to a first optical connector, or disconnecting the second optical connector from the first optical connector, includes a first housing and a second housing. The first housing includes a positioning portion to determine a position of the jig with respect to the first optical connector in cooperation with a member indicating a position of the first optical connector. The second housing grips the second optical connector such that, when the jig is positioned with respect to the first optical connector, a connection surface of the second optical connector faces a connection surface of the first optical connector. The second housing moves with respect to the first housing such that the connection surface of the gripped second optical connector is close to or away from the connection surface of the first optical connector.

A cable with a connector includes a plurality of multicore optical fibers and a plurality of connectors attached to ends of the plurality of multicore optical fibers. The connectors are multi-fiber connectors, and a core number density of each of the plurality of connectors is 2 cores/mmor more. The cable further includes a sheath that collectively covers the plurality of multicore optical fibers.

An optical apparatus includes a light emitting apparatus and a host apparatus. The light emitting apparatus includes a housing extending in a first direction, a light emitting device mounted in the housing, an optical connector including a first optical connection part provided at one end of the housing, and an electrical connector including a first electrical connection part provided at one end of the housing and receiving a voltage to drive the light emitting device. The host apparatus includes a host optical connector including a second optical connection part which faces the first optical connection part and is optically coupled thereto, a host electrical connector including a second electrical connection part facing the first electrical connection part and being electrically connected to the first electrical connection part, and a host board mounting the host optical connector and the host electrical connector thereon. Connector for optical fiber cable

An optical fiber connection component is provided with: a glass plate that has a plurality of first through-holes; a resin ferule that has a plurality of second through-holes respectively coaxial to the first through-holes and that is fixed to the glass plate; and a plurality of optical fibers that is arranged on a surface of the resin ferrule. One or more glass fibers disposed within each of the plurality of optical fibers, a surface of each of the glass fibers being covered with a resin coating, and a portion of each of the glass fibers being exposed from a tip of each of the optical fibers. The exposed portion of each of the glass fibers is held in a corresponding one of the first through-holes and a corresponding one of the second through-holes.

Optical fiber connection component and optical fiber connection structure

The disclosure relates to an optical connection device reducing a connection loss between an SCF and an MCF. The optical connection device includes plural relay fibers and a capillary having third and fourth end faces. Each relay fiber includes a first core of Δ1, a second core of Δ2, and a cladding of Δ3. The capillary includes a tapered portion with an outer diameter ratio R of the fourth end face to the third end face of 0.2 or less. In each relay fiber, a value of Formula (V2−V1)/R falls within a range from 156% μmto 177% μm, V1 (% μm) is given by (π·r1)×(Δ1−Δ2) by using a radius r1(μm) of the first core, and V2 (% μm) is given by (π·r2)×(Δ1−Δ2) by using a radius r2(μm) of the second core.

Optical connection device

An MCF having a structure excellent in mass productivity and suppressing increases in splicing cost and loss are provided. The MCF includes 12 or 16 cores, a cladding, and a coating. The cores are arranged at positions of line symmetry while no adjacent relationship is established between the cores having an adjacent relationship with any core. A coating diameter is 235-265 &#x3bc;m, a cladding diameter CD is from CD&#x2212;1 &#x3bc;m to CD+1 &#x3bc;m with a nominal value CDof 195 &#x3bc;m or less, an MFD at 1310 nm is from MFD-reference-value &#x2212;0.4 &#x3bc;m to the MCF-reference-value+0.4 &#x3bc;m with the MFD-reference-value of 8.2-9.2 &#x3bc;m, and a 22 m-cable-cutoff wavelength &#x3bb;is 1260-1360 nm. A core's zero-dispersion wavelength is a wavelength-reference-value &#x2212;12 nm to the wavelength-reference-value+12 nm with the wavelength-reference-value of 1312-1340 nm, and a dispersion slope at the wavelength is 0.092 ps/(nm&#xb7;km) or less. A shortest distance from a cover-cladding interface to each core center, a structure, and optical characteristics satisfy predetermined conditions.

Provided is a low-concentration polyurethane-modified epoxy resin including: a polyurethane having a secondary hydroxyl group-containing bisphenol-based epoxy resin that has an epoxy equivalent of 150 to 200 g/eq and a hydroxyl equivalent of 2,000 to 2,600 g/eq, added to both terminals and/or a single terminal thereof, in which the polyurethane is a modified product of the epoxy resin that is modified with a middle- and high-molecular-weight polyol compound having an Mn of 200 or larger, a polyisocyanate compound, and a low-molecular-weight polyol compound as a chain extender having an Mn of less than 200, and the epoxy resin is used in an amount of 68 to 92 weight % based on a total amount of the components.

An optical fiber connecting component includes a glass plate having a plurality of first through holes, a resin ferrule fixed to the glass plate and having a plurality of second through holes that are each coaxial with corresponding one of the plurality of first through holes, and a plurality of optical fibers including a glass fiber and a resin coating that covers the glass fiber. The glass fiber exposed from a tip of each of the optical fibers is held in corresponding one of the first through holes and corresponding one of the second through holes, and a material for the resin ferrule has a flexural modulus of 5 GPa or more at 200&#xb0; C.
