The power transmission system for use in a vehicle includes a power split device to perform power distribution among a flywheel for storing rotational energy as mechanical energy, an internal combustion engine and an electric rotating machine. The power transmission system is provided with an interrupting device configured to interrupt power transmission between a group of the flywheel and the electric rotating machine and a group of the internal combustion engine and drive wheels of the vehicle when rotational energy stored in the flywheel is transmitted to the electric rotating machine through the power split device under condition that power is transmitted between the internal combustion engine and the drive wheels.

Power transmission system for use in vehicle

When an arriving electric vehicle arrives at a car park with parking spaces, a parking state detection means in a parking and power charging system detects the presence of empty parking spaces. An assignment means assigns a ranking of charging performance to each detected empty parking space so that the empty parking space having the charging device of a higher charging performance has a higher ranking of charging performance on the basis of descending order of charging performance of the charging devices. A communication means obtains vehicle parameters of the arriving electric vehicle. A parking space instruction means instructs the arriving electric vehicle to move to and be parked in the empty parking space having the ranking of charging performance selected on the basis of the vehicle parameter such as necessity to charge or degree to easily charge the on-vehicle battery mounted on the arriving electric vehicle.

Parking and power charging system

A lower battery block feeds low-voltage power to a low-voltage load. The lower battery block includes cells. At least one higher battery block is connected in series with the lower battery block, and cooperates with the lower battery block to feed high-voltage power to a high-voltage load. The higher battery block includes cells. A DC&mdash;DC converter transmits power from the higher battery block to the lower battery block. A controller detects an electric parameter of the lower battery block which relates to an average per-cell voltage in the lower battery block, and also an electric parameter of the higher battery block which relates to an average per-cell voltage in the higher battery block. The controller operates for controlling the DC&mdash;DC converter in response to the detected electric parameters to equalize the average per-cell voltage in the lower battery block and the average per-cell voltage in the higher battery block.

Vehicular power supply apparatus and method of controlling the same

A large number of rechargeable unit cells connected in series forming a combination battery are divided into groups of cells, each group including several cells, preferably, three to five cells. Voltage unevenness among the cells in each group is eliminated by operation of a voltage balancer device connected to each group of cells. The voltage balancer device includes a circuit for equally dividing a terminal voltage of the group of cells and obtaining an average voltage among the cells. The average voltage is compared with an individual cell voltage, and the cells having a voltage higher than the average voltage are discharged so that all cell voltages in the group become equal. A plurality of the battery modules each including the group of cells and the voltage balancer device are connected in series to form a single combination battery, and voltage unevenness among the battery modules are controlled by another voltage control device. The voltage unevenness among cells in a group may be eliminated by charging a capacitor from cells having a higher voltage and charging cells having a lower voltage from the charged capacitor. Thus, the voltage unevenness among the combination battery cells is eliminated by a simple and inexpensive device.

Voltage balancer device for combination battery

This invention provides a chemical cell equipped with a safety mechanism which can restrict an abnormal reaction of a cell and can prevent in advance gas explosion, etc., of the cell. The chemical cell 4010 comprises a cell reaction portion 4015, a positive pole terminal 4016 and a cell case 4041 functioning also as a negative pole terminal. A driving member 4021 responsive to a gas pressure or reaction heat at the time of the abnormal reaction includes a retention mechanism 4025 having a flexible member 4251 which cuts off a current and maintains this state. It also includes a gas discharge member. The driving member 4021 preferably short-circuits the positive pole terminal 4016 and the cell case 41 after the current is cut off, and preferably includes a valve member 4301 for closing a gas passage 4047 again after the gas is discharged (see FIG. 40 ).

Chemical cell

A tire pressure detecting portion includes a housing, provided within the tire, within which a piezoelectric element is provided so as to be deformed by the tire pressure. The capacitance of said piezoelectric element is changed in accordance with its deformation. The piezoelectric element is electrically connected with a first coil diposed within said tire. The first coil is electromagnetically coupled with an excitation coil and a receiving coil, both of which are provided in the vehicle. The excitation coil provides an excitation voltage whole frequency is changed within a predetermined range including a resonant frequency. When the received voltage has the resonant frequency, a correspondinq tire pressure is determined based on a data map showing the relationship between said resonant frequency and the tire pressure.

Tire pressure detecting apparatus for vehicle

A brake oil pressure control device including a main line system for a normal braking operation, and a subline system for antiskid control and acceleration slip control. The main line system connects a master cylinder to a wheel cylinder, and has a first valve which opens the main line for a normal braking operation, and closes the main line when an antiskid control or acceleration slip control is in effect. The subline system has an oil pump connected to the wheel cylinder through a subline having a second valve, which is controlled to open and close the subline for the antiskid control or acceleration slip control. Inlet and outlet ports are connected by a relief pipe having a third valve and a relief valve. The relief valve opens the relief pipe under pressure from the master cylinder when a discharge pressure from the oil pump is higher than the pressure at the master cylinder, to restrain the discharge pressure from the oil pump. The third valve opens the relief pipe for an antiskid control, and closes the relief pipe for an acceleration slip control.
