A power device including a magneto and a rectification circuit for rectifying an output of the magneto is provided which is capable of adjusting an output of the magneto without any specific control circuit. A field adjusting excitation coil is arranged on a side of a stator of the magneto so as to generate a field adjusting magnetic flux when it is excited, resulting in a magnet field of the magneto being varied by means of the magnetic flux. The field adjusting excitation coil is connected to an intermediate portion of a current flow circuit for a load current, to thereby be excited by the load current, so that a magnet field of a rotor of the magneto is varied depending on the load current, leading to adjustment of an output of the magneto.

Magneto-equipped power device

A marine power device capable of preventing a failure in actuation of constantly-driven loads required to be constantly actuated for continuing operation of an internal combustion engine, when various loads are actuated using both a magneto driven by the engine and a battery driven by the magneto as a power supply in a ship in which an outboard motor is used as a propelling equipment. The device includes a switch which functions to separate occasionally-driven loads increased in power consumption and the battery from the magneto when the battery is reduced in output voltage thereof to a level of failing to actuate the constantly-driven loads due to connection of the occasionally-driven loads to the battery or overdischarge of the battery. The switch is arranged at a position which does not affect flowing of a drive current fed from the magneto to the constantly-driven loads.

Marine power device

A boosting switch circuit is constituted by a plurality of MOSFETs of which drains are respectively connected to a plurality of output terminals of an AC magneto and sources are connected to each other or together. The MOSFETs each have a parasitic diode in a drain-source circuit thereof. The parasitic diodes and a plurality of rectification diodes are subjected to bridge connection, to thereby provide a rectifying circuit for rectifying an AC output voltage of the AC magneto. The MOSFETs are fed at a gate thereof with a drive signal of a rectangular waveform, resulting in being concurrently subjected to on-off operation. This permits the output voltage of the AC magneto to be boosted and then rectified through the rectifying circuit. The output voltage thus boosted and rectified is then fed to a load.

Power device for internal combustion engine

A copying machine having an optical system movable by a motor in a feed direction with a predetermined feed speed and in a return direction for returning the optical system to a predetermined home position. The optical system is returned with a first speed higher than the feed speed. A countercurrent braking of the motor is performed to decelerate the motor near its home position and the speed of the motor after this braking process is decelerated to such a speed that the optical system can be stopped correctly at the home position.

A method of controlling the movement of a lens in a copying apparatus wherein the amount of lens movement is detected and the movement of the lens is corrected if necessary when the lens passes the home position. Even an error in the number of pulses counted before the lens passes the home position can be corrected because of the presence of the home position.

Method of controlling a lens stop position

An ignition position controlling apparatus for a multicylinder internal combustion engine is disclosed which is capable of generating clock pulses and cylinder discriminating signals for detecting proper angular positions necessary to determine the ignition positions of cylinders of the engine using an inductor-type signal generator simple in construction which includes signal generating means in number corresponding to the number of cylinders of the engine and a single disc-like toothed inductor.

Ignition position controlling apparatus for multicylinder internal

An ignition system for a multiple cylinder internal combustion engine comprises a power supply, a plurality of ignition coils, a plurality of control circuits, each provided in association with a respective one of the ignition coils for controlling the primary current of the associated ignition coil, and a plurality of signal sources producing signals in turn and in time with the rotation of the engine, each of the signal sources provided in association with a respective one of the control circuits, and adapted to produce a signal in advance of the ignition timing of the associated ignition coil. Each of the control circuit includes a gate turn-off thyristor connected in series with the primary winding of the associated ignition coil. The gate turn-off thyristor is adapted to be turned on when the signal source associated with the control circuit including the gate turn-off thyristor produces a signal in advance of the associated ignition coil, and is turned off when one of other signal sources produces a signal at the ignition timing of the associated ignition coil. The above mentioned one of other signal sources also serves to turn on the gate turn-off thyristor of the associated control circuit. Accordingly, the number of required signal sources is reduced and is equal to the number of ignition coils.

Ignition system for a multiple cylinder internal combustion engine

A device for preventing an overrunning operation of an internal combustion engine, provided in a capacitor discharge type ignition system comprising a magneto generator including an ignition power coil and at least one loading coil and an ignition circuit including a capacitor arranged to be charged from said ignition power coil of said magneto generator, an ignition coil and a discharging thyristor so arranged that energy from said capacitor is discharged through the primary side of said ignition coil when said discharging thyristor is triggered in time with said internal combustion engine, said device comprising an ignition failing thyristor provided so as to shunt said discharging thyristor whereby a discharge current from said capacitor is prevented from flowing through said ignition coil and also means to prevent a hysteresis on repetition of failure and success to ignite said engine. The ignition failing thyristor is adapted to be triggered by a voltage responsive to the revolution number of the engine. Means to prevent the hysteresis comprises an auxiliary thyristor connected in parallel to said ignition thyristor and so arranged that when the ignition failing thyristor is triggered the auxiliary thyristor is also triggered whereby energy from the capacitor of said ignition circuit flows through them so that the ignition circuit is overridden.

Device for preventing an overrunning operation of an internal combustion

A breakerless ignition system for an internal combustion engine comprising an ignition power supply, a capacitance discharge type ignition circuit including a capacitance, an ignition coil and a first semiconductor switching means to discharge the capacitance through the ignition coil on the primary side thereof, and an ignition signal source to trigger the first semiconductor switching means to be turned on, the ignition system further comprising an ignition inhibiting means including a second semiconductor switching means arranged so that it periodcally prevents the ignition power from being applied to the ignition circuit when the speed of the engine becomes less than a predetermined value and also when the intake vacuum pressure of the engine exceeds a predetermined value.

Breakerless ignition system for an internal combustion engine

An ignition system for an internal combustion engine comprising a power supply, and an ignition circuit including an ignition coil having a primary coil portion connected to said power supply and a secondary coil portion connected to at least one ignition plug, said ignition plug disposed within an operating chamber of said engine and a contact breaker connected to said primary coil portion, said ignition system characterized by comprising means to override said ignition circuit and means to periodically effect the operation of said overriding means. Means to periodically effect the operation of said overriding means comprises a triggering signal generator to generate a triggering signal each time said contact breaker is operated, a frequency divider to divide said triggering signal from said triggering signal generator so as to produce a divided signal with the frequency of 1/n times that of said triggering signal wherein n is 2 or 4, with said overriding means receiving said divided signal for its operation and means to allow the operation of said overriding means only when said engine requires to periodically fail to ignite said operating chamber.

Ignition system for an internal combustion engine

In an ignition system for an internal combustion engine comprising a power source, an ignition coil including a primary coil portion and a secondary coil portion with said primary coil portion supplied with a primary current from said power source and switching means to break said primary current in time with revolution of the engine whereby a high voltage is induced across said secondary coil portion of said ignition coil, a device for preventing the engine from revolving at more than the predetermined speed including a semiconductor controlled switching element connected in parallel to said primary coil portion of said ignition coil; and a control circuit to control said semiconductor controlled switching element so that it is non-conductive upon said engine revolving at less than the predetermined r.p.m. for normal operation of the ignition system and so that said semiconductor controlled switching element is conductive upon the engine revolving at more than said predetermined r.p.m. whereby it shorts a primary voltage across said primary coil portion of said ignition coil established upon opening of said switching means.
