A sheet type conductive member includes a flexible conductor formed of a conductive thread embroidered on or woven into a sheet body, the flexible conductor including a first end portion electrically connected to a wiring portion of a garment, a second end portion electrically connected to a contact, and a joint portion joining the first end portion and the second end portion together, an exposure area of the conductive thread per unit area in the first end portion and the second end portion being larger than an exposure area of the conductive thread per unit area in the joint portion.

Sheet type conductive member, connector, garment, and connector mounting method

A base includes a lower surface opposed to a lower board on which a receptacle is surface-mounted. The lower surface includes a solder connection part exposed toward the lower board without being covered with a housing so that it is soldered to a ground pattern of the lower board. This structure improves signal characteristics of a contact at low cost in a surface-mounting connector where the contact and the housing are integrated by insert molding. The signal characteristics of each conductive pattern are thereby improved at low cost.

A connector includes a contact retained in a housing selectively in one of a first posture and a second posture inverted 180 degrees around a fitting direction, the contact including a contact portion to be contacted with a contact of a counter connector and a connection portion to be connected to a flexible conductor of a connection object, between a case where the contact is retained in the housing in the first posture and a case where the contact is retained in the housing in the second posture, the contact portion is situated at a same position with respect to the housing and the connection portion is situated at a different position with respect to the housing, the contact being retained in the housing in, of the first posture and the second posture, a posture corresponding to an orientation of a flexible conductor exposed surface of the connection object.

Connector and connecting method

The connector includes an inner contact formed of a plate member inserted into a recess of a plug contact, the plate member having a first constituent portion including an elastically displaceable contact portion and a second constituent portion including a pressing portion that is elastically displaceable independently of elastic displacement of the contact portion, part of a sheet-like connection target in which a flexible conductor is exposed on at least one surface being sandwiched between the pressing portion and an inner surface of the recess in a direction orthogonal to the fitting axis, the inner surface of the recess coming into contact with a front surface of the connection target while the pressing portion coming into contact with a back surface of the connection target.

Connector

A receptacle includes a housing made of insulating resin and a first receptacle contact assembly integrally formed with the housing by insert molding. The first receptacle contact assembly includes a plurality of contact units arranged in a pitch direction. Each contact unit includes a base made of metal including a fixed part in a flat-plate shape fixed to the housing and four projecting parts projecting upward from the fixed part, an insulating layer that covers the base, and four conductive patterns that are formed on the insulating layer, extend from the fixed part to the four projecting parts, and function as contacts. The fixed parts of the plurality of contact units link together in an unbroken manner in the pitch direction.

In a punching step, a hoop material is punched in such a way that the hoop material includes a plurality of fixed parts linking in an unbroken manner in a feed direction of the hoop material and four projecting parts projecting from each of the fixed parts, and each conductive pattern extends from each fixed part to each projecting part. In an accommodating step, the hoop material is accommodated into an injection mold in such a way that the hoop material is supported at both ends in the injection mold by using two fixed parts corresponding to the front end and the back end in the feed direction among the plurality of fixed parts remaining in a housing even at the completion stage of the connector.

Connector and manufacturing method thereof

A sheet type conductive member includes a flexible conductor formed of a conductive thread embroidered on or woven into a sheet body, the flexible conductor including a first end portion disposed to be superposed on a wiring portion of a garment, a second end portion electrically connected to a contact, and a joint portion joining the first end portion and the second end portion together, the sheet body having an opening portion used for attachment to a connector, the second end portion extending from its connection portion with the joint portion toward an edge of the opening portion and being disposed near the opening portion to be spaced from the edge by a predetermined distance.

A connector includes a contact connected to a flexible conductor, a housing that is attached to a flexible substrate and retains the contact, and a protection sheet that is constituted of an insulating film having a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer formed on one surface thereof and is disposed between the housing and the flexible substrate such that the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer faces the flexible substrate, the protection sheet being disposed so as to cover at least a front surface part of the flexible substrate on which the flexible conductor is formed, and is adhered to the flexible substrate with the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer, the housing having a flat surface facing the flexible substrate, an adhesive layer bonding the housing to the protection sheet being disposed between the flat surface and the protection sheet.

A connector is mateable with a mating connector. The connector comprises a housing and a terminal. The terminal has an arm, a contact portion and a held portion held by a holding portion of the housing. The arm couples the held portion and the contact portion to each other and supports the contact portion so that the contact portion is movable. The contact portion has a bottom portion, a first support portion, a second support portion, a first contact point and a second contact point. Each of the first support portion and the second support portion extends upward from the bottom portion. The first contact point is supported by the first support portion. The second contact point is supported by the second support portion. Under a mated state, a mating terminal of the mating connector is sandwiched and held between the first contact point and the second contact point.

A connector is mounted on a circuit board when used. The connector has a housing and a terminal which has a held portion, a supporting portion, a coupling portion, a contact portion and a guiding portion. The coupling portion has a fulcrum. The guiding portion receives a vertical force from a mating terminal at a specific contact location. The guiding portion receives, at the specific contact location, a frictional force caused by friction between the mating terminal and the guiding portion upon movement of the mating terminal on the guiding portion. An action line of a combined force of the vertical force and the frictional force intersects with one of the circuit board and the housing at a reference point. The fulcrum is positioned beyond the reference point in a first orientation of a first horizontal direction.

A connector assembly comprises a connector and a mating connector mateable with each other. The mating connector comprises a mating lock member having a mating lock portion. The connector comprises a holding member and a lock member. The holding member has a holding portion and a stop portion. The lock member has a held portion and a lock portion. The held portion is held by the holding portion. The lock portion is located below the mating lock portion and faces the mating lock portion in the upper-lower direction under the mated state. The coupling portion has an abutment portion. When the lock portion is moved toward the held portion in the first horizontal direction in accordance with removal of the connector from the mating connector, the abutment portion is brought into abutment with the stop portion so that a movement of the lock portion is restricted.

Connector assembly including connector and mating connector lockably mateable with each other

An electronic equipment comprises a case and a connector which is attached to the case. The connector comprises a housing and a waterproofing member. The waterproofing member is sandwiched by a mating connector and a side portion of the housing in a second direction when the connector is mated with the mating connector. The waterproofing member has at least one first contact portion, at least one second contact portion, at least one third contact portion and at least one fourth contact portion. The third contact portion is pressed against the side portion in the second direction by elasticity of the waterproofing member upon the mating of the connector with the mating connector. The fourth contact portion is pressed against and in contact with the mating connector in the second direction by the elasticity of the waterproofing member upon the mating of the connector with the mating connector.

Electronic equipment

A connector includes a first insulator, a second insulator and at least one contact, the contact being composed of a first contact member retained by the first insulator and a second contact member retained by the second insulator, the first contact member including a first connection portion and a first communication portion, the second contact member including a second connection portion and a second communication portion, a connection object being sandwiched between the first connection portion and the second connection portion, the first communication portion and the second communication portion being in elastic contact with each other via an elastic piece, and at least one of the first connection portion and the second connection portion coming into contact with a flexible conductor of the connection object, whereby the contact is electrically connected to the flexible conductor of the connection object.
