A transfer device that includes a case that houses a transfer mechanism; a strainer that suctions oil stored in a lower portion of the case; a valve body that has a hydraulic supply circuit that supplies a hydraulic pressure to the transfer mechanism and a suction oil path that discharges an extra hydraulic pressure that is extra for the hydraulic supply circuit; a first suction inlet that communicates with one of the suction oil path and the strainer and a second suction inlet that communicates with the other of the suction oil path and the strainer, and a balanced vane pump.

Transfer device

A drive unit for vehicles that prevents a blow out of lubrication oil from a breather during splash lubrication is provided. A partition plate is disposed along a flat face of a ring gear to divide an inner space of the chamber into a first reservoir in which the ring gear is disposed, and a second reservoir to which the lubrication oil partially flows thereinto to return to an oil pan. The partition plate comprises a main body disposed between the flat face of the ring gear and an inner face of the chamber opposed thereto, and a bent portion formed on an upper end of the main body to guide the lubrication oil scattered upwardly by a rotation of the ring gear in a direction away from the breather.

Drive unit for vehicles

A sealing device that hermetically seals a gap between a first member and a second member that is reciprocally movable with respect to the first member. The sealing device seals liquid supplied into a pressurizing chamber surrounded by the first member and the second member. The sealing device includes a seal member that is attached to the second member. The seal member slides relative to the first member while being in contact with the first member. The seal member includes a base portion and a protruding portion. The protruding portion protrudes from the base portion toward the first member to separate the first member from the base portion. After the liquid is supplied into the pressurizing chamber to fill the pressurizing chamber with the liquid, the protruding portion elastically deforms to bring the base portion into close contact with the first member.

Sealing device

A power transmission device includes: a main case having an inside storing an oil; a drum carrying up the oil; and a partition wall partitioning the inside of the main case into a transmission gear housing containing the drum and a catch tank. An inner wall of the main case includes a down-extending portion extending down toward a feed opening of the catch tank, and extending toward the drum rather than along a vertical plane extending in the vertical direction as the down-extending portion extends downward, and a receding portion bordering on the down-extending portion and extending away from the drum from a bordering point where the receding portion borders on the down-extending portion.

Power transmission device

A support structure for supporting a brake, as a frictional coupling device, includes a snap ring, a friction plate, and a back plate. The snap ring fits in a groove that extends in a circle. The back plate is disposed between the friction plate and the snap ring. The back plate is pressed against the snap ring. The snap ring has a first end face that faces the back plate and a second end face that faces the opposite side from the first end face and is in contact with a sidewall of the groove. The back plate has an end face that is in contact with the first end face. The static friction coefficient between the first end face of the snap ring and the end face of the back plate is smaller than that between the second end face of the snap ring and the sidewall of the groove.

Frictional coupling device support structure and transmission

A differential gear unit divides an input driving force into first and second outputs, and permits a difference between the first and second outputs. The differential gear unit includes a differential case serving as a casing that defines an internal space and an opening communicated with the internal space and that is rotatable in a given direction and an opposite direction. The differential case includes a flange portion as an input portion to which the driving force is input. The differential case is configured such that the fatigue life of the differential case when the driving force is repeatedly input in the flange portion in the direction Ris longer than the fatigue life of the differential case when the driving force is repeatedly input in the flange portion in the opposite direction; Ris the rotational direction in which the vehicle runs forward.

Differential gear unit

A method of manufacturing a powertrain member capable of suppressing an effect of heat distortion is provided. A method of manufacturing a powertrain member including a disk portion provided to extend from a boss portion in a direction perpendicular to a rotation axis and having a through hole formed in the disk portion includes the first through hole formation step of forming a tip hole which is at least a portion of the through hole, the chamfering step of chamfering at least a portion of the tip hole, the heat treatment step of performing heat treatment after chamfering, and the second through hole formation step of forming a desired shape of the through hole by laser processing after heat treatment.

A rotary-shaft support device including a casing having an inner circumferential surface defining a shaft hole in which an output shaft is rotatably fitted, the inner circumferential surface having a generally helical lubrication groove having a non-helical inlet end portion which is formed in an open end portion of said shaft hole and which is parallel to a plane perpendicular to an axis of said shaft hole.

Rotary-shaft support device

In a lubrication groove, which is formed in an insertion hole into which is inserted an output shaft, and which winds around the circumference of the insertion hole while advancing in the axial direction of the insertion hole, there is a portion that is farther to the outside than a perpendicular plane that is perpendicular to a center plane of a differential case on which lie the axial centers of the insertion hole and a pinion gear shaft, the perpendicular plane including a line of intersection of the center plane and the insertion hole. That portion is a perpendicular groove portion which is parallel to a plane that is perpendicular to the axial center of the insertion hole. Accordingly, when extracting a core for forming the insertion hole and the lubrication groove from a die, projections formed on the core for forming the lubrication groove will not interfere with the die. As a result, it is possible to form the lubrication groove during casting of the differential case using that core.

Automatic transmission

An automatic transmission of a motor vehicle includes first, second and third planetary gear sets, two clutches and three brakes. A first-speed gear stage having the largest gear ratio is established when the first clutch and the first brake are engaged, a second-speed gear stage is established when the first clutch and the second brake are engaged, a third-speed gear stage is established when the first clutch and the third brake are engaged, a fourth-speed gear stage is established when the first clutch and the second clutch are engaged, a fifth-speed gear stage is established when the second clutch and the third brake are engaged, a sixth-speed gear stage is established when the second clutch and the second brake are engaged, and a seventh-speed gear stage is established when the second clutch and the first brake are engaged.

Automatic transmission of motor vehicle

A clutch apparatus includes a clutch disk; a pressure plate for moving the clutch disk through application of pressure; a diaphragm spring for applying a force to the pressure plate so as to urge the pressure plate toward a flywheel; a release bearing for pressing a central portion of the diaphragm spring; a release fork; and an actuator. The pressure plate and an outer circumferential portion of the diaphragm spring are in contact with each other via taper portions of the pressure plate and an adjust wedge member. The clutch apparatus counts the number of clutch operations. In order to obtain a desirable press-contact load according to the counted number of clutch operations, the adjust wedge member is rotated with respect to the pressure plate to thereby modify the attitude of the diaphragm spring.

Clutch apparatus

A clutch control apparatus includes a clutch disk, which is engaged with a flywheel, by means of a diaphragm spring; a release mechanism (including a rod and an electric motor) for pressing a central portion of the diaphragm spring; and a clutch control circuit. The clutch control circuit calculates an ideal clutch load and an output torque of the electric motor for a detected stroke of the rod. On the basis of these values, the clutch control circuit obtains the acceleration of the rod. The clutch control circuit estimates a stroke of the rod from the obtained acceleration and causes an adjust wedge member to rotate such that a detected actual stroke and the estimated stroke become equal, thereby modifying the attitude of the diaphragm spring accordingly.
