The invention relates to a method of manufacturing a liquid crystal display for which the one drop filling method is used to fill the gap between the substrates thereof and provides a method of manufacturing a liquid crystal display which can achieve high display characteristics. Droplets of a liquid crystal are dispensed in positions associated with exposure joint lines at boundaries between respective couples of adjoining regions to be exposed. Since this prevents stripe-like irregularities and grid-like irregularities from overlapping each other, display irregularities become less visually perceptible.

Method of manufacturing liquid crystal display by dispensing liquid crystal droplets on exposure joint lines

A method of manufacturing a liquid crystal display device in which liquid crystal is sealed between substrates using a one drop fill method. Dropping of liquid crystal is controlled so that the dropping quantity of the liquid crystal is reduced in an area including the vicinity of a seal material on a side with a relatively narrow cell gap width while the dropping quantity of the liquid crystal is increased in an area including the vicinity of the seal material on a side with a relatively broad cell gap width. Alternatively, dropping of the liquid crystal is controlled so that the number of times the liquid crystal is dropped is reduced in the area including the vicinity of the seal material on one side while the number of times the liquid crystal is dropped is increased in the area including the vicinity of the seal material on another side without changing the dropping quantity of one drop.

Method of manufacturing liquid crystal display device and one drop fill apparatus used for the same

A dispenser has a syringe having a nozzle at one end thereof and a plunger fitted in the syringe from the other end of the syringe. One end of a pipe is connected to a portion of the syringe between the one end and the other end of the syringe. A liquid material tank is connected to the other end of the pipe. The liquid material tank is arranged so that a level of the liquid material in the liquid material tank is higher than in the syringe. The dispenser can be used for drip injection method for producing a liquid crystal display device to stably drip droplets of a liquid crystal onto a substrate of a liquid crystal display device.

A plurality of main seal patterns and dummy seal patterns are formed by a sealant on one of substrates. The plurality of main seal patterns individually enclose each of a plurality of display areas. The dummy seal patterns individually enclose the plurality of main seal patterns, and sides of the dummy seal patterns facing sides of the one substrate are all interconnected. These formations enable constant vacuum levels to be maintained the inside and the outside of the main seal patterns when the inside of a chamber of an assembling device is recovered to atmospheric pressure. Therefore, distortion of substrates is impeded in the vicinity of the main seal patterns, and degradation of display quality can be prevented.

Method of manufacturing liquid crystal display device

A thin film transistor comprises a gate electrode formed on a substrate , a gate insulation film , a semiconductor layer , a source electrode and a drain electrode . The gate electrode, the source electrode or the drain electrode include a first conductor film , a second conductor film and a third conductor film . The first conductor film is formed of a metal selected out of Al, Cu and Ag, or an alloy of a metal, as a main component, selected out of Al, Cu and Ag, and has the side surfaces sloped. The second conductor film is formed of a film of Mo containing nitrogen, or an alloy of Mo, as a main component, containing nitrogen, and has the side surfaces sloped. The third conductor film is formed of Mo or an alloy of Mo as a main component.

Thin film transistor and method for fabricating the same

A thin film transistor wherein at least one of (1) a gate electrode and/or a scanning line therefor and (2) source/drain electrode and/or signal lines therefor comprises a laminated wiring structure in which a main wiring layer formed of a metal selected from Al and Cu or an alloy based on the metal is sandwiched between an underlying wiring layer and an overlaying wiring layer, the underlying and overlaying wiring layers being formed of a material based on a metal or alloy of metals and containing nitrogen, the metal being selected from Ti, Mo, W, Cr, Al and Cu, and the materials used in the underlying and overlaying wiring layers being different from each other. Alternatively, the underlying and overlaying wiring layers are formed of a material based on the same metal or alloy of metals and containing nitrogen, the metal being selected from Ti, Mo, W, Cr, Al and Cu, and contents of nitrogen in the underlying and overlaying wiring layers being different from each other. A method of manufacturing such a thin film transistor is also disclosed.
