A thermoelectric element-containing package according to one aspect of the present disclosure includes a thermoelectric conversion module including: a first substrate having first and second main surfaces; a second substrate having third and fourth main surfaces; and a plurality of thermoelectric elements that are sandwiched between the first and second substrates and arranged along the second main surface and the third main surface. The thermoelectric element-containing package further includes: a frame joined to the first and second substrates so as to form a hermetically sealed space surrounding the plurality of thermoelectric elements and disposed between the first substrate and the second substrate; and a placement member that is disposed on the first main surface of the first substrate or the fourth main surface of the second substrate and to which an additional device is to be connected.

Image scanning apparatus

An image reading device starts executing a reading process before a sheet reaches a reading position, and executes the reading process subsequently and repeatedly. A partial image is acquired each time the reading process is executed. Each time one partial image is acquired, the image reading device determines a number of pixels awarded to the one partial image; and determines an intensity awarded to the one partial image. The image reading device decides that at least one of the two successively-acquired partial images corresponds to an end of the sheet when the two partial images satisfy the conditions (A) and (B). Condition (A): the determined number of pixels is changed between the two successively-acquired partial images. Condition (B): the determined intensity is changed between the two successively-acquired partial images.

Combining multiple images from different display areas using a plurality of reference positions

In an image-reading device, when the reading unit generates the set of image data, the top side is generated at first and the bottom side is generated subsequently to the top side. The scanned image includes a document image corresponding to the document. The specifying unit, when the reading unit scans and reads a part of the document and generates a part of the set of image data including a part of the document image, specifies a target vertex that is positioned at topmost among at least one vertex of the part of document image. The estimating unit defines a reference position in the scanned image corresponding to a center of the conveying path in the width direction, and estimates a size of the document based on a length in the second direction between the target vertex and the reference position.

Image reading apparatus

An image-reading device includes a linear image sensor and a cable. The linear image sensor is divided into, at least, first, second and third blocks. The first block is disposed adjacent to the second block. Each block reads images on an original document and generates image signals. The cable includes, at least, first, second and third signal wires corresponding to the first, second and third blocks respectively. Each signal wire transmits the image signals generated by each block. The third wire is sandwiched between the first signal wire and the second signal wire.
