A contact module includes a leadframe having signal contacts arranged in pairs. Each signal contact includes a lead having sides extending between inner and outer edges. The contact module includes a dielectric frame supporting the leadframe having a first side and a second side with windows extending through the dielectric frame between the first side and the second side. The windows exposing to air the sides, the inner edges and the outer edges of the corresponding leads along a majority of lengths of the leads. The contact module includes a shield structure having a first ground shield at the first side and a second ground shield at the second side to provide electrical shielding for the signal contacts.

Contact module for a connector assembly

A contact module includes a dielectric holder having first and second sides extending between a mating end and a mounting end. The contact module includes signal contacts held by the dielectric holder along a contact plane. The contact module includes a first ground shield coupled to the first side of the dielectric holder and providing electrical shielding for the signal contacts and a second ground shield coupled to the second side of the dielectric holder and providing electrical shielding for the signal contacts, the ground shield having skewer openings. The contact module includes ground skewers having posts extending from the first ground shield through the dielectric holder. The posts are electrically connected to the first ground shield and extend into corresponding skewer openings of the second ground shield to electrically connect the first ground shield to the second ground shield.

Ground shield for a contact module

A connector assembly is provided with a first connector and a second connector. The first connector includes a housing and a lock spring arranged at an end portion of the housing. The lock spring includes a pair of arms extending parallel to a planar side of the housing. The second connector includes a catch to engage the lock spring by flexing the pair of arms away each other.

A card connector is provided having a housing and a contact. The housing includes a card receiving space. The contact is supported by the housing and includes a contact arm and an extended portion. The contact arm includes a free end and the extended portion includes a first end positioned below the contact arm on which the free end of the contact arm slides.

Card connector and contact with buckling prevention

A contact having a contact section, a pair of tabs, and a pair of springs. The contact section includes a pair of arms extending frontward while facing each other and a support bearing the pair of arms. The pair of tabs are located on left and right sides of the contact with the contact section positioned between. The pair of springs having a sheared surface and bend from both left and right sides of the support respectively. Additionally, the pair of springs first bend outwardly to right and left away from the contact section, around respective central axes extending vertically and maintain the sheared surface facing up and down. Then, the pair of springs extend backward to link to the pair of tabs, respectively, the pair of springs supporting the contact section.

Contact and electrical connector

A contact is attached to a connector housing thereby contacting a mating connector. The contact includes a contact section, a pair of tabs, and a pair of springs. The contact section is includes a pair of arms that extend frontward while facing each other and a support bearing the pair of arms. The pair of tabs are positioned on left and right sides of contact with the contact section positioned between. The pair of springs bend from both left and right sides of the support respectively, and frontward further than the tabs. The pair of springs also extend backward and then connect to the tabs. The pair of springs support the contact section and allow the contact section to move in the left-right direction by elastic deformation.

A contact having a support, a first arm supported by the support and configured to contact a mating contact, and a second arm facing the first arm in a facing direction and supported by the support and configured to contact the mating contact is disclosed. A first spring and a second spring are each connected to the support and bent in the facing direction and extend along a plane substantially perpendicular to the facing direction. The first spring and the second spring elastically support the support in the facing direction and a mount is connected to the first spring and the second spring.
