A first laser beam is emitted from a first laser oscillator in a pulsed manner at a high repetition frequency, and converged onto a substrate by a first intermediate optical systemso as to form a slit-like first beam spot. A second laser beam is emitted from a second laser beam oscillator in a pulsed manner to rise precedent to and fall subsequent to the first laser beam, and converged onto the substrate by a second intermediate optical system so as to form a second beam spot similar in configuration to the first beam spot and to contain the first beam spot. Crystallization of a semiconductor thin film on the substrate is carried out while the substrate or the first, second beam spots are moved. Thereby, the whole semiconductor thin film is formed into a crystal surface that has grown in one direction and free from ridges. Thus, the semiconductor thin film has an extremely flat surface, extremely few defects, large crystal grains and high throughput.

An optical disk has address recording sections each of which has a wobbled part of one of side walls of a groove. Each address recording section is formed by providing convexes of a groove in an adjacent land so as to widen the groove. With the wobbles thus provided in a concavo-convex form, address information is recorded. A pair of opposite end portions of a buckling exothermic body as an exothermic resistor are fixed onto a substrate via insulating members. The buckling exothermic body heats with resistance thereof by applying a voltage from a power source to the buckling exothermic body via a switch. As inner temperature of the exothermic resistor reaches a predetermined temperature or higher required for the exothermic resistor to buckle, and a compressive force exceeds a buckling load, the exothermic resistor buckles and distorts towards thermosensible paper from a non-shifted state in which there is virtually no thermal stress. As the buckled and distorted exothermic resistor comes into contact with the thermosensible paper, recording, such as printing, is performed only at the contact portion. This reduces thermal mutual interference between neighboring buckling exothermic bodies. As a result, recording of high resolution and high print quality is performed. Moreover, since, unlike the prior art, there is no need to provide an abrasion protection layer, production costs can be cut down and a smaller and lighter head can be made.

A container comprises a casing and a nozzle plate covering the upper surface of the casing and an ink discharge opening. A diaphragm is positioned above the buckling structure with a space therebetween and placed on an inner wall of the casing with its periphery fixed thereto so as to liquid-tightly partition the inside of the container into a space and an ink chamber. A connection member connects the diaphragm and the buckling structure at their center. Electrodes are provided at both ends of the buckling structure to generate thermal stress therein by supplying electric current for buckling and consequently to apply pressure to ink in the ink chamber for discharging.

It can be selected whether to form a both-side wobble groove whose both side walls wobble by irradiating two light beams while oscillating the same along the radius of a magneto-optical master disk, or to form a one-side wobble groove one of whose side walls alone wobbles by irradiating two light beams while fixing one of the same and oscillating the other along the radius of the magneto-optical master disk. Then, either a single one-side or both-side groove for tracking-use is formed by irradiating both the two light beams on a photo-resist applied on a glass substrate in accordance with address data. As a result, grooves of different types, both-side and one-side grooves, can be formed continuously in the exposing process.
