A vehicle headlight system comprises a headlight that irradiates light in front of a host vehicle, a target detection section that is configured to detect a target present in front of the host vehicle, a display that is provided inside a vehicle cabin of the host vehicle, a first memory, a first processor that is coupled to the first memory, a second memory, and a second processor that is coupled to the second memory. The first processor includes a light irradiation control function that is configured to control light distribution of the headlight, based on a detection result by the target detection section. The second processor is configured to determine whether or not the light irradiation control function is in an active state, to control a display mode of the display so as to show a determination result, and in a case in which the light irradiation control function is in the active state, to control the display mode of the display so as to show, in addition to the determination result, a light distribution control state according to the light irradiation control function.

A light distribution control apparatus includes an imaging device capable of capturing an image of a front vehicle existing in front of an own vehicle, a headlight capable of irradiating a front region of the own vehicle, and a control unit capable of executing light distribution control for controlling light distribution of the headlight so that a predetermined first region including the front vehicle and a predetermined second region other than the first region are irradiated with different illuminances based on the captured image obtained by capturing an image of the front region of the own vehicle. The control unit sets an illuminance irradiated in the first region to be less than an illuminance irradiated in the second region, and sets an area of the first region based on a position in a lateral direction of the front vehicle in the captured image.

Light distribution control apparatus that irradiates different regions with a different illuminances

A light distribution control device can perform diffused light distribution control designed to widen an irradiation range of a headlamp of an own vehicle. The light distribution control device is equipped with a recognition unit that recognizes a situation around the own vehicle, and a control unit that performs diffused light distribution control when a curve section in front of the own vehicle in a traveling direction thereof is detected, from a result of recognition by the recognition unit. A driving assistance apparatus comprising a first object detecting sensor device, a second object detecting sensor device, and a control unit. The first object detecting sensor device detects an object and obtains the position and a certainty value of the object. The second object detecting sensor device detects an object and obtains the position and an object type for the object. The control unit executes collision avoidance control to avoid collision between a vehicle and a monitoring target object which is detected by the first object detecting sensor device when the certainty value of the monitoring target object is higher than a certainty threshold. If the monitoring target object is also detected by the second object detecting sensor device and its object type is a specific type, the certainty threshold is made larger.

A control apparatus for a vehicle includes a controller configured to (i) calculate, based on a distance and a relative speed between a host vehicle and a forward obstacle, a collision prediction time of a collision between the forward obstacle and the host vehicle; (ii) execute a predetermined control when the collision prediction time is less than or equal to a predetermined threshold, the predetermined control reducing a probability of the collision between the forward obstacle and the host vehicle, and (iii) decrease the predetermined threshold, when an accelerator pedal releasing operation is performed under a situation where the forward obstacle exists, depending on a first distance between the host vehicle and the forward obstacle at a time at which the accelerator pedal releasing operation is performed.
