Image processing restriction information that defines time of day restrictions of a first function and time of day restrictions of a second function is stored in a memory unit. Based on time managed by a time management unit, a time of the image processing request and the image processing restriction information, an image processing restriction corresponding to the first function or the second function is determined based on the received image processing request for image processing of the corresponding function. An image forming apparatus having a first image obtaining portion which obtains an image of a medium as a first image, a second image obtaining portion which can continuously obtain each image of a plurality of originals as a second image, and an image output section which outputs the image has: an input portion which inputs composition instruction information for instructing composition of first image and each second image; a control portion which makes said first and said second image obtaining portions operative when the composition instruction information is inputted; and an image composing portion which forms each composite image by composing each of the second images sequentially obtained by the second image obtaining portion to the first image obtained by said first image obtaining portion. The image output section outputs the composite images formed by the image composing portion.

An image forming apparatus is supplied enabling print request user to identify whether the requested print data needs an approval or not so as to judge how to treat the corresponding print matter. With a printing controlling method, to reduce time for image output even where a text confirmation time is required for a preview, text created by an operator is converted into printing data in parallel with a preview and added with a storage command to be transmitted to an image forming apparatus, and the data are stored in a received data storage buffer to be on standby with waiting for a subsequent command. Where reedition is needed through the preview, an erase command is transmitted from an image processing apparatus to cancel the printing data stored in the received data storage buffer. Conversely where reedition is not necessary, a printing start command is transmitted from the image processing apparatus to execute analysis of the printing data stored in the received data storage buffer, thereby stepping forward to a procedure for printing execution.

Printing controlling method and printing control program thereof

An image processing apparatus has a document table on which a document can be placed. A document position detector detects the position of the document on the document table. A scanning mode selector selects a scanning mode according to the position detected by the document position detector. A scanning unit scans the document in the selected mode. Different image processing modes may also be selected according to the detected position.
