An engine includes a crank chamber in which pressure fluctuation occurs and a carburetor including a diaphragm fuel pump. The diaphragm fuel pump includes a pump chamber configured to suck in and eject fuel and a diaphragm chamber to which a pressure that drives the pump chamber is supplied. The diaphragm chamber and the crank chamber communicate with one another in a state in which a negative pressure is created in the crank chamber.

A handheld engine-driven cutter is provided with a disk blade and a main body that drives the disk blade. The main body comprises a four-stroke engine, an oil supplying opening from which engine oil is supplied, and an oil exhausting opening from which the engine oil is exhausted. In this engine cutter, the oil supplying opening and the oil exhausting opening are both disposed on one side of the main body where one end of a driving axis of the four-stroke engine is located.

Engine-driven cutter

A four-stroke engine is provided to lubricate driving parts including a crankshaft and valve operating members while circulating oil, using pressure fluctuation in a crank chamber, the pressure fluctuation being caused by reciprocating motion of a piston. A cam driving parts move with rotation of the crankshaft; a driving chamber and a rocker chamber are connected to one another; the rocker chamber is connected to the crank chamber and a gas-liquid separator; the oil accumulated in a tank is sucked up into the crank chamber and circulated through each part of the four-stroke engine; the crank chamber and the driving chamber are connected to one another via a communicating passage and a return passage; and the crank chamber and the driving chamber connected to one another via the return passage communicate with one another only when the piston is located in a vicinity of the top dead center.

Four-stroke engine

A handheld engine-driven cutter is provided with a disk blade and a four-stroke engine that drives the disk blade. By employing the four-stroke engine, exhaustion of unburned gas and fuel consumption can be reduced. The engine cutter is further provided with a filter through which air provided to the four-stroke engine passes, a carburetor that mixes fuel and the air that passed through the filter, and a casing that houses the filter and the carburetor. The filter and the carburetor are arranged to align on a straight line along a direction of flow of the air passing through the filter and the carburetor.

A lubrication apparatus for a four-stroke engine that prevents lubrication failure from occurring around the crankshaft and reliably prevents oil from remaining in a valve operating chamber includes: an intake part positioned below the level of an oil A in an oil reservoir even if the oil reservoir is tilted and the level of the oil A changes; an oil feeding passageway that sucks up the oil A from the intake part and supplies the oil A to the crank chamber; and an direct passageway that allows communication between a valve operating chamber and a crank chamber when a negative pressure is created in the crank chamber. Open end parts of the oil feeding passageway and the direct passageway which are open in the crank chamber are provided to open as the piston moves from a position near the top dead center to the top dead center.

Lubrication apparatus for four-stroke engine

A liquid tank cap for a working machine engine is provided. The liquid tank cap opens and closes a filling opening of a tip end portion of a refilling pipe of a liquid tank. The liquid tank cap includes an upper wall that covers the filling opening, a fitting portion that engages with an inner surface of the filling opening and protrudes from the upper wall, and a peripheral wall that covers an outer circumference of the refilling pipe in a state where the liquid tank cap is attached to the filling opening.

A lubricating device for a four-stroke engine is provided that circulates oil while lubricating each part in a valve operating chamber and a crank chamber by supplying the oil to the valve operating chamber and the crank chamber using pressure fluctuation in the crank chamber, the pressure fluctuation being caused by reciprocating motion of a piston. The valve operating chamber is formed by mounting a valve operating chamber cover, and a suction passageway that sucks the oil in the valve operating chamber is provided by forming a groove on an inner surface of the valve operating chamber cover and sealing the groove with a sealing member shaped to fit the groove.
