A diagnostic method, a treatment method and a medical system are capable of selecting reasonably and effectively a favorable order of treatments capable of achieving desired effects when lesion areas in both left and right lower limb arteries are treated in order from an artery of an arm. The method of treating a patient having lesion areas X in both left and right lower limb arteries involves determining the lesion area X to be treated first, based on at least the two pieces of selected comparative information on each of the lesion areas X.

A catheter assembly includes an outer catheter that includes a tubular outer catheter body and an outer catheter hub, and an inner catheter that includes an inner catheter body and an inner catheter hub. Catheter

A treatment method involves introducing a catheter into a blood vessel in an arm of the patient and is advanced to position the distal end of the catheter in a blood vessel in a lower limb on one side of the patient's body. A treatment device is inserted into the catheter and advanced to a treatment target in the lower limb on the one side of the patient's body. The catheter is then moved to shift the distal end of the catheter from the blood vessel in the lower limb on the one side of the patient's body to a blood vessel in the lower limb on the other side of the patient's body. A treatment instrument can then be introduced into the catheter and advanced to carry out treatment on a treatment target in the lower limb on the other side of the patient's body.

Moreover, in the treatment method, the surgeon pulls an inner catheter out of an outer catheter, causes a treatment device to advance to the treatment target through the inside of the outer catheter, and treats the treatment target by the treatment device.

Treatment method for treating lower limbs using multi-member catheter assembly

A catheter assembly includes an outer catheter and an inner catheter. The inner catheter has an accommodation unit which can be positioned on a farther distal side than an outer catheter body in a state where an inner catheter body is inserted into the outer catheter body, extends in a proximal direction from the inner catheter body, and can accommodate an outer catheter distal portion so as to surround an outer circumference thereof in a state where the outer catheter distal portion formed at a distal end of the outer catheter body is reduced in diameter. The outer catheter distal portion can be separated from the accommodation unit and can expand in diameter by moving the inner catheter body in a distal end direction relatively with respect to the outer catheter body from a state of being accommodated in the accommodation unit.

Catheter assembly

A catheter is disclosed which has at least a two-layered structure and can suppress decrease in function thereof by suppressing the disorder at an interface between layers during use, and a method for manufacturing the same. The catheter has an inner layer as a tube shaped body made of a thermoplastic resin and an outer layer, as a tube shaped body made of a thermoplastic resin, coming into contact with the outer surface of the inner layer, and has a reinforcement member which is at least partially embedded in the inner layer and includes a gap leading the inner layer toward the radial outside of the catheter. The inner layer has a protrusion which extends in an axial direction of the catheter while protruding from the gap to the radial outside, is positioned on the radial outside of the reinforcement member, and ingrows into the outer layer.
