The present invention relates to a catalyst for reforming a hydrocarbon comprising a carrier containing manganese oxide and carried thereon (a) at least one component selected from a ruthenium component, a platinum component, a rhodium component, a palladium component, an iridium component and a nickel component and a process for producing the same and to a process for reforming a hydrocarbon (steam reforming, self thermal reforming, partial oxidation reforming and carbon dioxide reforming) using the above catalyst. Provided are a catalyst for reforming a hydrocarbon which comprises ruthenium, platinum, rhodium, palladium, iridium or nickel as an active component and in which a reforming activity is elevated, a process for producing the same, and a steam reforming process, a self thermal reforming process, a partial oxidation reforming process and a carbon dioxide reforming process for a hydrocarbon using the above catalyst.

Catalyst for reforming hydrocarbon and method for preparation thereof, and process for reforming hydrocarbon using said catalyst

The present invention provides a catalyst suitably employed in a variety of hydrocarbon reforming processes and a hydrocarbon reforming process including employing the catalyst in production of hydrogen or synthesis gas. The hydrocarbon reforming catalyst of the present invention contains an alumina carrier containing cerium oxide and, carried on the carrier, component (a), component (b), and optional component (c), the component (a) being at least one platinum group element selected from among ruthenium, platinum, rhodium, palladium, and iridium; the component (b) being cobalt and/or nickel, the component (c) being an alkaline earth metal. When steam reforming, autothermal reforming, partial-oxidation reforming, or carbon dioxide reforming of hydrocarbons is performed through employment of the catalyst, hydrogen or synthesis gas can be produced.

Catalyst for hydrocarbon reforming and method of reforming hydrocarbon with the same

A method for preparing a catalyst is herein disclosed which comprises the steps of impregnating a carrier with active components, particularly a platinum-containing compound and one or more halogen-containing compounds, drying the impregnated carrier, and then calcining the same, said drying treatment being carried out while the impregnated carrier is in a drifting condition. According to the above method, an activity of the catalyst can be improved, and a cracking selectivity can be reduced.

Method for preparing catalyst

Provided is a catalyst for selective oxidation of CO gas in a gas of essentially hydrogen, and a method for producing the catalyst. The catalyst is highly active in a relatively high temperature range. The catalyst is for selectively oxidizing CO gas with hydrogen, and this carries ruthenium held on a carrier of titania and alumina, or carries ruthenium with an alkali metal and/or an alkaline earth metal held thereon. For producing the catalyst, a solution containing ruthenium and an alkali metal and/or an alkaline earth metal is applied to the carrier.

Carbon monoxide oxidation catalyst, and method for production of hydrogen-containing gas

A catalyst formed of a ziroonia carrier carrying ruthenium and a catalyst formed of an inorganic oxide carrier carrying zirconium and ruthenium provide high conversion in autothermal reforming of a variety of hydrocarbons. The catalysts also provide high yield of carbon monoxide in reforming reaction making use of carbon dioxide and exhibit long-term stable characteristics with a small amount of coke deposition.

Process for reforming hydrocarbon

The present invention is directed to a halogen-containing catalyst which contains one or more halogen components and in which the halogen amount distribution in the catalyst is uniform, and a process for preparing a halogen-containing catalyst which comprises the steps of supporting one or more halogen components on an L type zeolite, and then drying it at a water evaporation rate of 15% by weight/hour or less. According to the present invention, there can be provided the catalyst in which the halogen amount distribution in the catalyst is uniform, so that a cracking activity can be reduced, and the process for preparing the catalyst.

Halogen-containing catalyst and process for the preparation thereof

There are herein disclosed an L-type zeolite catalyst which is obtainable by supporting a platinum component, one or more halogen components and one or more metal components selected from the group Ib of the periodic table on an L-type zeolite, the support amount of one or more metal components selected from the group Ib being in the range of 0.001 to 3% by weight based on the total weight of the catalyst in terms of the metal, a molar ratio of one or more metal components selected from the group Ib/platinum being in the range of 0.01 to 1; and a method for producing aromatic hydrocarbons or a gasoline having a high octane number which comprises the step of bringing one or more fractions selected from a C6 fraction, a C7 fraction, and a C8.sup.+ fraction into contact with this catalyst. According to the present invention, there are provided a catalyst containing an L-type zeolite as a carrier which is desirable as a catalyst for the production of aromatic hydrocarbons or a gasoline having a high octane number and which can inhibit a cracking activity and the formation of coke and can improve an aromatic selectivity and a liquid yield.

L-type zeolite catalyst

A catalytic reforming process is disclosed using a catalyst containing a Group VIII metal, low amounts of bismuth, and a zeolite L. The catalyst is a non-acidic, monofunctional reforming catalyst. Preferably, the catalyst contains one or more halogens. Preferably, the feed includes C.sub.8 hydrocarbons. The addition of small amounts of bismuth increase or substantially maintain catalyst stability. Unexpectedly low dealkylation rates are achieved using the catalyst while reforming to produce aromatics, especially to produce xylenes such as paraxylene.
