Provided are a lighting device in which adjacent lighting appliances appears continuous with inconspicuous joint therebetween, and a method for constructing a building. Each of a first lighting appliance and a second lighting appliance includes a lighting appliance body including a chassis, and a plurality of light sources, a fitting adapter disposed on the rear surface of the chassis, the fitting adapter being fitted into a mounting hole formed in a building material, and a light-transmissive cover. The first lighting appliance and the second lighting appliance are arranged adjacent to each other with respective corresponding ones of the lateral surface portions abutting against each other, The first lighting appliance includes a first coupling member disposed on the rear surface of the chassis, and the second lighting appliance includes a second coupling member disposed on the rear surface of the chassis. The first coupling member and the second coupling member are coupled on the rear surface with the first lighting appliance and the second lighting appliance adjacent to each other with the respective corresponding ones of the lateral surface portions abutting against each other.

Lighting device and light installation method

The present disclosure provides a method of mounting a lighting appliance that can be easily attached to a building material, a mounting structure for a lighting appliance, a lighting appliance, and a method of constructing a building. An electrical cable of a power supply unit disposed at a position that does not overlap a mounting hole on a rear side of a building material is passed through an inner opening of an annular mounting bracket, and a power supply side connector provided at an end portion of the electrical cable is positioned on a front side of the building material. The power supply side connector is connected to a lighting appliance side connector fixed to an upper surface of a fitting adapter provided on a rear surface of a lighting appliance body on a side opposite to a light emitting surface. The fitting adapter is fitted into the inner opening of the mounting bracket fitted into the mounting hole, and the upper surface of the fitting adapter is exposed to a space on a rear side of the building material.

A light fixture assembly for mounting on a mounting surface of a building material includes: a light fixture. The light fixture comprises a main body comprising a back side surface and a light transmissive side surface opposing the back side surface. The main body has a first dimension from a first lateral edge to a second lateral edge opposing the first lateral edge that is greater than a second dimension from the back side surface to the light transmissive side surface. The assembly further includes a mounting adapter provided at the back side surface, and a plate spring provided at the back side surface and extending along a first direction from the first lateral edge to the second lateral edge. The plate spring is configured to apply a restoring force to the first lateral edge and the second lateral edge.

A lighting fixture includes a light source module having a base with a surface having first and second lateral edges, and a plurality of light sources disposed on the surface of the base. A cover disposed over the light source module includes a light-transmissive main surface terminating at third and fourth lateral edges. A first light-transmissive side surface extends from the third lateral edge towards the first lateral edge, and a second light-transmissive side surface extends from the fourth lateral edge towards the second lateral edge. The first lateral edge is laterally offset by a first distance from a first orthogonal reference plane with respect to the third lateral edge, and the second lateral edge is laterally offset by a second distance from a second orthogonal reference plane with respect to the fourth lateral edge.
