Disclosed is a connector for integrated circuit packages. The connector generally includes a cover assembly having a metal framework for fixedly securing the integrated circuit package without projecting pin elements of the package from the backside of the cover assembly in order to prevent the pin element from the damage and a socket assembly for mounting contact elements to connect with the pin elements. The framework is hinged to the cover assembly at one of the side edges thereof. The cover assembly can be combined with the socket assembly by means of the first engage portion of the cover assembly and the second engage portion of the socket assembly at the side edge opposed to the hinged side edge. After combination the hinged side edge of the cover assembly can be pressed against the socket assembly so as to connect the pin elements with the corresponding contact elements from the side edge having the engage portion towards the hinged side edge of the socket assembly one by one.

Connector for integrated circuit packages

A coaxial connector comprising a first insulator (29), a second insulator (31), and a straight-line contact (21) disposed between the first and second insulators is disclosed. The straight-line contact comprises a first conductive plate and a second conductive plate, which are superimposedly combined, wherein each of the first and second conductive plates includes a first contact (25), a second contact (27), and a base plate (23) from which the first and second contacts extend in the same directions, thus including a pair of the base plates. The first contact and the second contact are arranged alternately in parallel rows in the longitudinal direction of the base plate. The first insulator comprises, on the side facing the second insulator, a groove (49) for accommodating the end portions of the first and second contacts for supporting thereof, and a guide means for guiding a mating element which is to be connected to the straight-line contact. The second insulator includes, on the side facing the first insulator, a pair of grooves for accommodating the base plate for each of the first contact and the second contact.

A thin-type coaxial connector and a coaxial multicore receptacle used together with the thin-type coaxial connectors are disclosed herein. The thin-type coaxial connector comprises a female central contact mechanically and electrically connected to a central conductor of coaxial cable by press-deforming, an insulator holder of a discrete sleeve fitted onto the central contact and an insulator sheath layer of the coaxial cable, a ferrule fitted onto an outer surface of the coaxial cable and covered with an outer conductor of the coaxial cable folded thereon, and an outer conductor sleeve closely fitted onto the insulator body and said folded outer conductor to clamp the outer conductor by the outer conductor sleeve and the ferrule. The receptacle comprises a substrate having a plurality of ground pins and power source pins set at cross points of a matrix pattern thereon and a plurality of signal pins, a guide plates overlaid on the substrate having guide holes for the ground pins, the power source pins, and the signal pins. The guide plate further comprises insulator caps covering the power source pins. A plurality of pairs of ground contacts are disposed over the guide plate for making contacts with the ground pins and outer conductor sleeves of coaxial connectors mating with the signal pins, and for clamping insulator caps, respectively.

An electrical connector having contact elements, for mounting a leadless circuit board to a mother board. Each contact element is provided with a projection laterally projecting therefrom which engages with the lower opening edge of a through-hole of the mother board to maintain the connector in contact with the surface of the mother board. Connector apertures are arranged to a zigzag pattern to form first and second rows, and the contact elements are inserted in the apertures of the first and second rows with reversed orientation.

Electrical connectors for leadless circuit boards

A shielded electrical connector comprises a housing having contact sections of electrical contact members disposed in passages of the housing and exposed terminal sections extending outwardly and downwardly from a rear surface of the housing for electrical connection with signal paths of a printed circuit board. A shield plate extends along a row of terminal sections and has ground terminals electrically connected to ground tabs of contact members and ground terminals for electrical connection with ground paths of the printed circuit board.

An electrical connector for electrically connecting terminal pins of a circuit package to a circuitry of another circuit board having quasi-terminal pins for elastically pre-bending pairs of spring arms of contact elements in the connector. The connector is provided with an insulator base member for embracing the contact elements, and an insulator cover member slidably overlying the base member. The base member has recesses for permitting the spring arm pair to elastically bend. The cover member has penetrating holes for introducing the conductive pins into the recesses. The quasi-terminal pins are attached to the cover member adjacent to the penetrating holes, respectively, each of which is inserted between the spring arms and are in press-contact with them. Thus, the spring arms are pre-bent to facilitate an insertion of the terminal pin into a space between spring arms. The circuit package is adapted to the connector so that the terminal pins are introduced into the recesses through the penetrating holes. When the circuit package is slided along the base member, each of the terminal pins is laterally shifted to be inserted into a space between the spring arms and then each of quasi-terminal pins is shifted to go away from the spring arms. Therefore, the terminal pins are pinched between the spring arms to thereby be electrically connected to the contact elements. Preferably, each of the spring arms is provided with a guide leaf for guiding insertion of the quasi-terminal which is inserted thereinto.
