In an embodiment, upon receiving access credentials from a first entity, first information about the first entity is retrieved and used to determine a first service and a first service category of the first service provided by a first service provider to the first entity in the past. Based on the first service category, one or more first sub-categories associated with the first service are determined. Upon determining electronic data characteristics of received electronic data, it also is determined whether any of the electronic data characteristics matches one or more first sub-category characteristics of any of the one or more first sub-categories associated with the first service. If so, based on, at least in part, the electronic data, an updated first sub-category for the first sub-category associated with the first service is generated and transmitted to the first service provider for processing.

A system is configured to manage access to electronic documents on mobile wireless devices. An exit system detects when a particular user attempts to remove a particular mobile wireless device from a building. The exit system sends a request to a manager system, via a network, to determine whether the user is authorized to remove one or more electronic documents or information that are on the particular mobile wireless device from the building. In response to determining that the particular user is not authorized, the system renders the one or more electronic documents or information inaccessible on the particular mobile wireless device.

An approach is provided for managing locked printing requests in cloud printing environments. In a cloud printing environment, a cloud printing service provider provides a platform that enables client devices to send print requests for processing by any printing device that is configured to communicate with the cloud printing service provider over a network, such as the Internet. A printing device comprises a cloud print agent that is configured to manage locked printing requests received from client devices via a cloud printing platform. The cloud print agent may be further configured to notify a user when print job data for a print job submitted by the user is approaching expiration.

A device management system is configured to manage access to electronic documents on client devices using policies. The policies specify one or more download and processing restrictions to be enforced with respect to the particular electronic document at client devices for example, particular hardware and software configurations that are required at client devices before data is permitted to be downloaded to those client devices. The policies may also specify other requirements that must be satisfied before data is permitted to be downloaded to those client devices, for example, user authentication.

An approach is provided for a service provider to identify documents to include in a client's repository and for the client to print the documents from the client's repository. In an embodiment, a computing device receives authentication information identifying a first user, receives first user information identifying a second user, receives information indicating selection of a one or more particular documents, from a set of one or more documents, and sends document information that at least identifies the one or more particular documents to a repository associated with the second user. A printing device receives second user information identifying the second user, and, in response to receiving the second user information, retrieves the one or more particular documents from the repository based, at least in part, on the second user information. An approach is provided for retrieving electronic documents. The approach provides a Web-based graphical user interface that allows users to construct complex queries that include Boolean clauses, proximity clauses and/or keyword phrases, without requiring the users to have a working knowledge of query languages. The Web-based graphical user interface also allows users to specify a semantic meaning for one or more search terms. The approach also allows users to generate various reports for search results. Various filters may be applied to manage the amount of reporting data and semantic meanings may be applied to increase relevancy. A time cost estimator provides an estimated review time for search results. Also included are approaches for using the results of simple searches to perform advanced searches, for estimating the cost and/or time for reviewing search results and for performing tagging analysis and for using logical custodians.

Selecting best-fit digital lockers for packages

Techniques are provided for generating sensor data from a locker compartment and transmitting the sensor data to a locker controller. The sensor data indicates one or more characteristics of an item present in the locker compartment. Upon receiving the sensor data, the locker controller transmits the sensor data to a locker manager, which, based on, at least in part, the sensor data indicating the one or more characteristics of the item, determines one or more dimensions of the item present in the locker compartment. The locker controller also requests one or more reference dimensions of the item, determines whether the one or more dimensions of the item match the one or more reference dimensions of the item, and if so generates and transmits a first report message indicating that the one or more dimensions of the item match the one or more reference dimensions of the item.

Techniques are provided for determining, by a sensor, a weight of an item placed in a locker compartment; transmitting, to a locker controller, data indicating the weight of the item placed in the locker compartment; receiving, from the sensor, the data indicating the weight; transmitting the data from the locker controller to a locker manager; receiving, from the locker controller, the data indicating the weight of the item placed in the locker compartment; receiving at the locker manager a reference weight for the item; verifying the weight of the item placed in the locker compartment based at least in part upon the received data and the reference weight for the item placed in the locker compartment; and generating and transmitting a report message indicating whether the item has been delivered to the locker compartment.
