A post-activation type dry image forming material comprising (I) a silver salt component reducible to free silver upon light exposure and including silver iodide; (II) a redox reactive composition capable of making a visual change by a redox reaction of said composition, said reaction being initiated by heating in the presence of free silver; (III) an oxidizing agent for free silver which has an oxidizing capacity for free silver but is rendered photosensitive by heating and which, upon light exposure after said heating, is suppressed with respect to the oxidizing capacity for free silver and capable of catalytically promoting the redox reaction of said composition; and (IV) a photoreactive oxidizing agent, upon light exposure, capable of returning the reduced oxidizing agent for free silver to the original state. A post-activation type dry image forming material which is extremely excellent in stability of the raw image forming material, that is, can be stored in a light room for a time as long as a period of the order of years and which has high sensitivity can, for the first time, be realized by the ingenious combination of components. The effect of the interaction between the components, especially between the components (I), (III) and (IV) is noticeable in imparting to the present image forming material an extremely high stability of the raw image forming material.

Post-activation type dry image forming material

A novel dry image forming material comprising in one or more layers on a support (a) a non-photosensitive organic silver salt oxidizing agent, (b) a reducing agent for silver ions, (c) a silver halide component or a silver halide-forming component, (d) a toning agent and (e) a lipophilic binder, characterized by the inclusion of a specific 2-(2'-hydroxyphenyl)benzotriazole compound having bulky tert-butyl or tert-amyl groups at its ortho- and para-positions relative to the hydroxyl group in a layer containing the component (a). The dry image forming material of the present invention has high storage stability prior to use for image formation. When the dry image forming material comprises a combination of a silver salt oxidizing agent-containing layer comprising the specific 2-(2'-hydroxyphenyl)benzotriazole compound and a reducing agent-containing layer comprising a high impact acrylic resin as a binder material, the material is remarkably improved in storage stability of raw material in the dark or under light with wavelengths of 450 nm or more and the stability of a latent image, and shows minimized variation in image quality with heat development conditions. When the dry image forming material comprises, as the component (a), a silver salt of long chain fatty acid having 16 or more carbon atoms and, as the component (c), a silver halide component including silver iodide or a silver halide-forming component capable of forming a silver halide component including silver iodide, and further comprises (g) an oxidizing agent for free silver, (h) a photoreactive halogeno oxidizing agent and, in the layer containing the components (a), (c), (e) and (f), (i) a specific cyanine spectral sensitizing dye, the material is of the post-activation type and spectrally sensitized without sacrificing the storage stability of raw material.

A method for storing sheets of a photothermographic sheet material composed of a high molecular weight compound support and a sensitive emulsion comprising, as the indispendable constituents, an organic silver salt oxidizing agent, a reducing agent for silver ion, a photosensitive silver salt compound or its precursor, and a binder, characterized by inserting paper having smooth surfaces between every two sheets of said photothermographic sheet material. By this method, the photothermographic sheet material can be stored for a long period of time without deterioration of quality.

A method and apparatus for forming an image using an image forming sheet that is normally non-photosensitive but can be rendered photosensitive by preheating and is exposed at the preheated area to a light image to form therein a latent image and then heat-developed to form a visible image. After preheating, the preheated area is cooled by cooling means prior to exposure.

Image forming method and apparatus therefor

A dry image forming material comprising (a) an organic silver salt oxidizing agent, (b) a reducing agent, (c) a photosensitive silver compound or a photosensitive silver compound-forming component and (d) a high impact acrylic resin used as a binder material of the image forming coating and/or a material of any protective layer has been found to be excellent in impact peel strength, blooming or chalking resistance and storage stability of raw material. A novel dry image forming material comprising (a) a non-photosensitive organic silver salt oxidizing agent, (b) a reducing agent for silver ions, (c) a photosensitive silver halide or a photosensitive silver halide-forming component capable of forming a photosensitive silver halide by the reaction thereof with said organic silver salt oxidizing agent, and (d) a substituted 3-pyrazolin-5-one. A novel printed circuit board with a circuit of high precision having a polymer coat layer between a base and a dispersion imaging material layer and a pattern circuit on undispersed portions of the dispersion imaging material layer. Such a printed circuit board is prepared by a simplified process which comprises essentially two steps, namely, exposure of the dispersion imaging material through a circuit pattern mask to obtain a pattern circuit of the unexposed portions and conductive metal plating wherein said unexposed portions are selectively deposited with the conductive metal due to the specific effect of provision of the polymer coat layer directly under the dispersion imaging material layer.

A dry image forming material with an increased sensitivity, characterized by including a) an organic silver salt oxidizing agent, b) a reducing agent and c) a compound or a composition which comprises a halogen component and an organic component containing an element except for sulfur belonging to the IV group, V group or VI group of the periodic table and having an atomic number of 14 or more, and is adapted, by heating, to interact with the silver ion of a) to form a photosensitive interaction product. The dry image forming material according to this invention is of the type of post-activation and can be prepared, stored and handled under normal lighting conditions.
