An organic electroluminescence device including a lower electrode disposed on a substrate, an organic layer having at least a light emission layer and disposed above the lower electrode, and upper electrode having a transparent conductive film and disposed above the organic layer, in which the device has an electron injecting layer between the organic layer and the upper electrode. The electron injecting layer has a buffer layer comprising an insulative material and a mixed layer comprising an organic material that has an electron transporting property and a metal material that has an electron injecting property.

Disclosed herein is a light emitting device, including: a light emitting diode; an sealing resin member having an arrangement face and configured to seal the light emitting diode; and a lens disposed on the arrangement face of the sealing resin member and formed so as to have a circular shape as viewed in the direction of an optical axis of light emitted from the light emitting diode, the lens having a concave portion formed at a central portion in such a manner as to be concave toward the sealing resin member.

Light emitting device, area light source apparatus and image display apparatus

A light emitting device includes a plurality of light emitting diodes, a plurality of sealing resins, and a lens body formed in substantially a shape of a flat plate for guiding the light. The lens body is also disposed in a state of extending over the disposition surface of each sealing resin. The lens body includes a plurality of lens parts and a plurality of light guiding parts for reflecting the light by inside surfaces of the light guiding parts. The plurality of lens parts and the plurality of light guiding parts of the lens body are formed integrally with each other. The lens parts are disposed on the respective disposition surfaces of the sealing resins, and a plurality of light emitting function parts for sending out the light reflected by the inside surfaces of the light guiding parts are formed in the light guiding parts.

Light emitting device, surface light source device, and image display device

In a stacked display device with light-emitting units composed of organic layers and stacked together, the use of a stable material in at least a portion of a charge generation layer makes it possible to achieve improvements in environmental stability and also to attain an improvement in the efficiency of injection of charges from the charge generation layer into the light-emitting units. The display device can be readily fabricated. In a display device () provided with a plurality of light-emitting units (-)(-), each of which includes at least an organic light-emitting layer (), stacked together between a cathode () and an anode (), and also with a charge generation layer () held between the respective light-emitting units (-)(-), at least a portion of the charge generation layer () is composed of an oxide or fluoride which contains at least one of alkali metals and alkaline earth metals.

Bathophenathroline compound and process for preparing same

An organic electroluminescent device capable of blue emission with a high color purity, and a display unit capable of full-color display with high color expressivity by using the organic electroluminescent device are provided. The organic electroluminescent device includes at least a hole transportation layer and a luminescent layer held between a lower electrode to become an anode and an upper electrode to become a cathode in a state of lamination in that order from the anode side. The luminescent layer is made of a spiro compound, and the hole transportation layer is made of triphenylamine tetramer. Furthermore, the display unit includes organic electroluminescent devices as blue-emitting elements arrayed for a plurality of pixels.
