Aiming at providing a straddle-type all terrain vehicle effectively improved in the operational stability of vehicle and engine performance, power transmissions transmitting driving force of a power unit to a rear axle shaft, and braking devices exerting braking force to rear wheels are provided respectively at both side of an end of a rear swing arm in the vehicle width direction, and an exhaust silencer is disposed in a space between the power transmissions and the braking devices, below a seat.

All terrain vehicle

A straddle-type vehicle is provided with an engine unit and an engine air-intake system. The engine unit includes a cylinder head provided with an air-intake port communicating with a combustion chamber, the air-intake port being provided with a valve seat disposed to an opening of the combustion chamber. The engine air-intake system includes a throttle body connected to an upstream side of the air-intake port and an air cleaner connected to an upstream side of the throttle body via an air-intake pipe so as that the air cleaner projects upward over the upper frames, the air cleaner having an inner clean section, and an axis connecting the clean section and the throttle body extends linearly toward the valve seat.

Straddle-type vehicle

In a motorcycle, an engine is arranged at a lower portion of substantially a center portion of a motorcycle body between a front wheel, a rear wheel and a fuel tank is arranged above the engine and the motorcycle is provided with a fuel pump unit. The engine has a plurality of cylinders and is formed at a rear portion thereof with an intake port to which an air-fuel fuel mixture supply means is connected and the fuel pump for supplying fuel in the fuel tank to the air-fuel mixture supply means is attached integrally to the air-fuel mixture supply means.

Fuel pump unit of motorcycle

A V-type engine has front (first) and rear (second) cylinders being offset to sides opposite from each other. The front (first) and rear (second) carburetors are mounted in alignment with the centers of the front and rear cylinders, respectively. The body of the front carburetor and the body of the rear carburetor are coupled to each other by linkage plates arranged in parallel with the line that joins the center of the front carburetor and that of the rear carburetor. The throttle shaft of the front carburetor and the throttle shaft of the rear carburetor are laid out perpendicular to the linkage plates and coupled to each other by means of a coupling linkage which is in parallel with the linkage plates. A throttle cable is connected to the throttle shaft of the front carburetor.

Intake device for a V-type engine

An intake apparatus of an internal combustion engine for a vehicle comprises a duct for taking into a wind during a running of a vehicle, an air cleaner operatively connected to the duct, a fuel supply device for injecting a fuel into an intake air coming from the air cleaner, a movable valve arranged between an outlet port of the duct and an inlet port of the air cleaner, a negative-pressure motor for driving the movable valve, and an electronic control unit for controlling the movable valve. The electronic control unit is connected to an ignition means, and the electronic control unit controls the opening and closing of the movable valve in accordance with a rotational speed of an internal combustion engine, an opening degree of a throttle of the engine and a gear position of the engine as control parameters and carries out a delay angular control of an ignition timing in response to the opening and closing control of the movable valve.

Intake apparatus of internal combustion engine

A motorcycle vacuum response type carburetor comprises a carburetor body having an upper portion, a lower portion, a diaphragm device disposed at the upper portion and a floating member disposed at the lower portion. The diaphragm device has a diaphragm chamber and a diaphragm comprised of hydrogen impregnated nitrile butadiene rubber separating the diaphragm chamber into an upper section and a lower section. A venturi passage extends horizontally through the carburetor body and a guide passage extends through the venturi passage. The guide passage has an upper end portion in communication with the lower section of the diaphragm chamber. A piston valve is movably disposed in the guide passage and has a head portion fixed to a central portion of the diaphragm. A needle valve for adjusting a jetting amount of a fuel is mounted to a lower portion of the piston valve and extends into the float chamber. A first communication passage communicates the lower section of the diaphragm chamber to the atmosphere. A second communication passage extends through the piston valve for communicating the upper section of the diaphragm chamber to the venturi passage. The second communicating passage has an opening at a lower end thereof which opens from a lower end portion of the piston valve and is in close proximity to the needle valve.
