A non-aqueous electrolyte is provided that includes a non-aqueous solvent and an electrolyte salt, wherein the non-aqueous solvent contains a fluorinated ether (1) represented by the following Formula: HCFCFCFCH&#x2014;O&#x2014;CFCFH (1). This non-aqueous electrolyte has good wettability to a polyolefin separator, can provide a battery with excellent load characteristics for a long period, does not easily decompose in the battery under high-temperature storage, and causes little gas generation due to decomposition. Furthermore, a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery is provided that includes a positive electrode, a negative electrode, a separator, and the above-described non-aqueous electrolyte.

A non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery is produced using a non-aqueous electrolyte including: a non-aqueous solvent that primarily contains a solvent mixture of ethylene carbonate and propylene carbonate and includes a fluorine-substituted ether having a divalent group represented by a formula: &#x2014;CFX&#x2014;CH(CH)&#x2014;O&#x2014;, where X is a hydrogen atom or fluorine atom, in a molecule thereof; and a lithium salt that is dissolved in the non-aqueous solvent. The non-aqueous electrolyte has favorable wettability towards a polyolefin separator, and improves the cycle characteristics and the load characteristics of the non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery.

An object of the present invention is to provide a positive electrode active material for a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery, which can solve the problem that the capacity remarkably decreases with an increase of the number of charging and discharging cycles in a high capacity non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery using a positive electrode active material for a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery made of particles of an alkali metal composite oxide containing nickel. The fully elastic coating expands and contracts following the volume change of the negative electrode active material; thus, the coating brings out its desired functions without being damaged or broken. An all-solid-state lithium secondary cell has a laminate, and a pair of external current collectors. The laminate is shaped into substantially a rectangular parallelepiped and is made of a positive electrode, a negative electrode, and a solid electrolyte between the positive and negative electrodes. The external current collectors are disposed at both ends of the laminate to support side faces of the laminate. One of the current collectors is connected to the positive electrode and the other to the negative electrode.
