A display device and a method for manufacturing the display device are provided. The display device includes an organic layer on an auxiliary wiring is removed with high precision by one operation and, thereby, the yield and the productivity are improved. A lower electrode is formed by patterning in each pixel on a substrate. An auxiliary wiring including a light absorption layer is formed between individual pixels. An organic layer is formed on the substrate while covering the lower electrodes. Laser irradiation is conducted from the organic layer side, the laser light is converted to heat in the light absorption layer exposed at a portion under the organic layer, and the organic layer portion above the light absorption layer is removed selectively. An upper electrode is formed on the organic layer and is connected to the light absorption layer portion of the auxiliary wiring.

Display device and method for manufacturing display device

It was found that a mutation of an amino acid at a specific position in the P protein of a morbillivirus gives a temperature-sensitivity character to a virus. By introducing this mutation, a virus to which a temperature-sensitivity character has been introduced can be produced. According to this invention, attenuated viruses useful in the preparation of vaccines can be easily produced.

Method for producing temperature-sensitive morbillivirus

It was found that a mutation of an amino acid at a specific position in the F protein of ainduces a reduction in the cell-fusion ability. By introducing this mutation, a virus having a reduced cell-fusion ability can be produced. Thus, attenuated viruses useful in the preparation of vaccines can be easily produced.

Method for producing cell-fushion type morbillivirus mutants

To provide an optical element in which resistance of electrodes on a scanning side is reduced, a rate of effectively utilizing light generated at organic layers is promoted and shortcircuit between anodes and cathodes is prevented, there is provided an optical element including first electrodes formed on a substrate, organic layers at least including organic light emitting materials formed on the first electrodes and second electrodes formed on the organic layers, in which the first electrodes and the second electrodes are formed to be substantially orthogonal to each other and the organic layers are formed in an island-like shape at positions at which the first electrodes and the second electrodes intersect with each other.

Optical element

An organic EL display that realizes low electric power consumption and display with high brightness by decreasing the resistance of the electrode on the scanning side is provided. The display device of the invention includes a substrate, first electrodes in a stripe form comprising a transparent conductive material formed on the substrate, an insulating film having prescribed openings formed on the first electrodes, an organic layer comprising an organic light emitting material formed on the openings and the insulating film, and second electrodes in of a stripe form formed on the organic layer, wherein the first electrodes comprise a material having a large resistance than a resistance of the second electrodes, the first electrodes and the seconds electrode are arranged to cross each other, the organic layer is formed only in the crossing part of the first electrodes and the second electrodes, a first circuit supplying a first electric current is connected to the first electrodes, and a second circuit supplying a second electric current larger than the first electric current is connected to the second electrodes.

Organic electroluminescence display

A printing device according to the present invention assures stable mixing and ejecting operations without provision of complicated mechanisms such as valves. The printing device includes an ejecting nozzle with a first discharge opening and a metering nozzle with a, second discharge opening, which are provided separately from each other to feed two kinds of fluids through the first and second discharge openings, respectively. The two kinds of fluids are mixed together to form a fluid mixture to be ejected toward a recording medium. A minimum distance d between the first and second discharge openings of the metering and ejecting nozzles is in the range of 0&lE;d&lE;5(S,) where S,stands for an opening area of the first discharge opening of the ejecting nozzle.

A plate material 1 and piezoelectric ceramics 2 are bonded together through an alloy layer 3 formed by an alloy forming reaction due to the mutual diffusion phenomena between a liquid metal including at least galium and the plate material 1 or the piezoelectric ceramics 2, or the mutual diffusion phenomena between the liquid metal and metal powder. The alloy layer 3 may include at least one or more of indium, tin and zinc and at least one or more of copper, silver, gold, and palladium. Further, a metal may be provided on at least one of the bonded surfaces of the plate material 1 and the piezoelectric ceramics 2. This metal may include one or more of copper, silver, gold, tin and palladum. In addition, a metal layer may be formed on the bonded surface 1a side of the plate material 1. Still further, an amorphous layer may be formed on at least one of the parts between the plate material 1 and the alloy layer 3, and between the piezoelectric ceramics 2 and the alloy layer 3.

Piezoelectric actuator and method for manufacturing the same

The present invention provides a method of manufacturing an organic EL display capable of decreasing the resistance of scanning-side electrodes, and improving the efficiency of utilization of light emitted in organic layers. In the manufacturing method, stripe first electrodes made of a transparent conductive material are formed in parallel on a transparent substrate, and then an insulation layer is formed on the transparent substrate with the apertures formed above the first electrodes. An organic film 24 composed of a film of an organic luminescent material, a second electrode material film and a protecting film is laminated in this order on the transparent substrate to cover the insulation layer, and then independent island resist patterns are formed on the protecting film. Then, a laminated film composed of the organic film, the second electrode material film and the protecting film is etched using the resist patterns as a mask to pattern independent island laminations each composed of an organic layer, a second electrode, and a protecting layer.

A method of forming adjacent ink and dilution solution nozzles in an orifice plate includes first providing an orifice plate having a thickness dimension. A first nozzle is then formed having a first orifice extending through the orifice plate at a first angular orientation that is generally normal to the thickness dimension. A second nozzle is then formed having a second orifice adjacent to the first orifice and at a second different angular orientation. One of the first and second nozzles is the ink nozzle and the other of the first and second nozzles is the dilution solution nozzle. The first and second nozzles are formed by laser light irradiation.
