A power supply system which includes a first system, a second system, and a system-to-system switch. The first system delivers electrical power from a first power supply to an electrical load through a first power feeding path. The second system delivers electrical power from a second power supply to the electrical load through a second power feeding path. The system-to-system switch is arranged in a connecting path which connects the first and second power feeding paths together. The power supply system also has an in-system switch which is disposed in the second power feeding path between a junction of the second power feeding path and the connecting path and the second power supply. When it is determined that a malfunction has occurred in the second system in a condition where the system-to-system switch and the in-system switch are closed, the system-to-system switch is opened. The power supply system controls an opening-closing operation of the in-system switch when the system-to-system switch is opened, thereby limiting flow of electrical current from the second power supply to the second system and prevents voltages applied to the system-to-system switch from undesirably dropping due to a surge voltage developed in the second system which arise from the limitation of flow of the electrical current.

Power supply system

A power system has: an electrical load; first and second lines respectively including first and second power sources; and inter-line switch. The first power source outputs a power supply voltage. The second power source includes a storage battery. The power system includes: an anomaly determination unit determining an anomaly in the first line; a state control unit opening the inter-line switch if the occurrence of an anomaly is determined; first and second paths in parallel to each other between a connection point to the connection path and the second power source in the second line; a charging unit on the first path to charge the storage battery to a higher voltage than the power supply voltage of the first power source; and a discharge regulation unit on the second path to regulate discharge of the storage battery in the second line.

Redundant power system

A power supply system includes: a first system having a first power supply; a second system having a second power supply; and an inter-system switch provided in a connection path connecting the first and second systems. First and second paths are provided in parallel between a connection point, at which the connection path is connected with the second system, and the second power supply. The power supply system further includes: a charging unit provided in the first path to charge, with the inter-system switch closed, a storage battery of the second power supply; a discharge restriction unit provided in the second path to restrict discharge of the storage battery; an abnormality determination unit that determines whether an abnormality has occurred in the discharge restriction unit; and a use restriction unit that restricts use of the second power supply upon determination that an abnormality has occurred in the discharge restriction unit.

A power source system has a first system having a first power supply path and a first power source supplying a power source voltage, a second system having a second power supply path and a second power source having a battery being charged by the power source voltage, an intersystem switch, a switching controller switching the intersystem switch between an open state and a closed state, and a charging discharging part, arranged between the second power source and a connection node of a connection path on the second power supply path. The charging discharging part performs charging of the battery by the power source voltage and discharging of the battery based on a discharging request after completion of battery charging, and performs charging of the battery before the switching controller switches the intersystem switch to the open state from the closed state when overvoltage occurs in any system under the closed state of the intersystem switch.

Redundant power source system with overvoltage response

A power supply system includes a first power output portion, a second power output portion, and a ring-form main pathway. A power supply system includes a first output pathway connecting the main pathway with the first power output portion, a second output pathway connecting the main pathway with the second power output portion, and a loading pathway connecting the main pathway with an electric load. The power supply system includes multiple main switches and a control unit. The main switch is configured to switch between a ring connection state and a non-ring connection state of the main pathway. The control unit controls the switching of the main switch. The control unit is configured to activate a non-ring connection mode that turns off one of the main switches and turns on the remainder of the main switches.

An inductance component has a given value causing a time constant of a circuit composed of one of first and second routes in which an abnormality does not occur and a connection path connecting the first and second routes not to allow a voltage of one of loads disposed in the other one of the routes to decrease to less than a lower limit of an operating voltage of one of loads during a shut-off period, which starts from a time when it is determined by an abnormality determiner that an abnormality has occurred in any one of the first route and the second route to a time when an inter-route switch enters a switched off state upon receiving a switch-off command from a state controller.

A power supply system includes: an inter-load switch including a first switch and a second switch connected in series, a voltage generation unit, an electric storage device connected between the first switch and the second switch, a first state control unit configured to select a first state in which power is supplied from at least one of the voltage generation unit or the electric storage device to a first load and a second load, and a second state control unit configured to, when determining that a failure has occurred, select a second state in which power is supplied from the electric storage device to a load on a side of a no-failure-occurrence system in which no failure has occurred, by turning off a switch on a side of a failure-occurrence system in which a failure has occurred and turning on a switch on a side of the no-failure-occurrence system.

In a power supply system, a first route includes a first power supply connected to a first load. A second route includes a second power supply connected to a second load. A connection path connects the first and second routes at a connection point. The first power supply includes a voltage generator generating an operating voltage operating the first and second loads. The second power supply includes an electrical storage device charging based on power supplied from the voltage generator. A switching circuit includes a first switch having a diode component with an anode and a cathode being directed to the electrical storage device and the connection path, respectively, and is disposed between the connection point and the electrical storage device. A switch state controller outputs a switch-off command to the first switch when the electrical storage device is in the fully charged condition.

An electric power control apparatus for a vehicle includes a first determination section determining an activation of a jump start, a second determination section determining a connection of an external power source having a higher voltage than a battery voltage of the vehicle, a third determination section determining whether the engine switches to an engine start completed state, a keep section keeping an electric power generation unit of the vehicle in an electric power generation deactivated state when determining that the engine switches to the engine start completed state, a fourth determination section determining a disconnection of the external power source, and an instruction section instructing an immediate activation of the electric power generation to the electric power generation unit when determining the disconnection of the external power source.

A control apparatus includes a first determination section determining whether a power-supply voltage has decreased below a first threshold value, an interruption section interrupting a current flow to an inverter if the voltage has decreased below the first threshold value, a second determination section that determining whether the power-supply voltage has increased above a second threshold value, an interruption releasing section releasing the interruption based on the fact that the voltage has increased above the second threshold value, a count section counting the number of interruptions, a limiting section determining whether the decrease in the power-supply voltage is caused by a first factor of an electric rotating machine or a second factor, and limits the counting if the decrease in the power-supply voltage is caused by the second factor, and a third determination section determining whether the interruption is allowed to be released based on the number of interruptions.

Controller for electric rotating machine that interrupts a current flow to an inverter

A power supply system includes a first-battery, a battery unit including a second-battery, and a generator. The battery unit is connected to the generator and the first-battery via a conductor. The battery unit includes a connection-terminal connected to the conductor, an output-terminal connected to a load, a first-switch disposed on a wiring connecting the connection-terminal and the output-terminal, a branch line branching off from the wiring between the first-switch and the output-terminal and connected to the second-battery, a second-switch disposed on the branch line between the wiring and the second-battery, a first-voltage-detecting unit detecting voltage of the connection-terminal, and a switch control unit controlling the first and second-switches. The power supply system further includes a second-voltage-detecting unit detecting electromotive force of the first-battery, and a fault-determining unit determining a fault of the conductor based on opening/closing states of the first and second-switches and results of the first and second-voltage-detecting units.

Power supply system providing fault detection using switching arrangement

An engine control apparatus is configured to perform engine automatic stop to automatically stop an engine when predetermined engine stop conditions are satisfied and automatically restart the engine when predetermined engine restart conditions are satisfied. The stop conditions including that a vehicle speed decreases below a predetermined stop permission speed. The engine control apparatus includes a variation amount detection means for detecting a variation amount of a brake operation being performed by the vehicle driver during a deceleration period from when the vehicle has started to decelerate to when the vehicle speed has decreased below the stop permission speed, and a stop determination means for determining whether the engine automatic stop should be performed when the engine stop conditions are satisfied based on the variation amount detected by the variation amount detection means.

Engine control apparatus

An engine control apparatus capable of performing engine automatic stop includes an engine automatic stop inhibition means configured to inhibit the engine automatic stop after engine restart conditions are satisfied and the engine is restarted until a vehicle speed exceeds a predetermined speed, a brake operation detection means configured to detect a presence of increase of the amount of a brake operation in a state of the brake operation being performed after the vehicle has been stopped, and an engine stop control means configured to release inhibition of the engine automatic stop to allow the engine to be automatically stopped, if the brake operation detection means detects presence of increase of the amount of the brake operation while the engine automatic stop is inhibited by the engine automatic stop inhibition means.

A control apparatus for an idle-stop system mounted on a manual-transmission-vehicle includes a restart unit performing a restart operation of the engine such that the restart unit drives a starter to restart the engine when a predetermined restart condition is met. The restart condition includes a condition where a clutch member is operated to allow the motive force to be transmitted between the output shaft of the engine and the driving wheel of the vehicle while the motive force has been blocked by the clutch, and a condition where the brake member is operated to stop applying the braking force to the wheel while the motive force has been blocked by the clutch. A forced stopping means is adapted to stop the wheels by forcibly applying the braking force to the wheels by operating a brake actuator during a predetermined period since the restart condition is met.

Control apparatus for idle-stop system mounted on vehicle with manual transmission

A device for controlling an automatic start of the engine mounted on a vehicle which includes a clutch to transmit/block motive power between an output shaft of the engine and the driving wheel of the vehicle. The automatic start control device includes an automatic restart processing in which a starter is driven to crank the engine when predetermined restart conditions are met thereby restarting the engine. The automatic start control device detects a state of the clutch being either transmitting or blocking and detects whether or not a transition of the state occurs during the cranking of the engine in the automatic restart processing. The control device forcibly stops driving of the starter when the transition of the state occurs.
