An iron-based sintered alloy, which has a composition including, in terms of percent by mass, Ti: 18.4 to 24.6%, Mo: 2.8 to 6.6%, C: 4.7 to 7.0%, Cr: 7.5 to 10.0%, Ni: 4.5 to 6.5%, Co: 1.5 to 4.5%, Al: 0.6 to 1.0%, the balance being Fe and unavoidable impurities, wherein the alloy has a structure in which hard particles are dispersed in an island form in a matrix, among other characteristics.

A method for producing an iron-based sintered alloy, which is used in sliding components in pairs and has a composition including, in terms of percent by mass, Ti: 18.4 to 24.6%, Mo: 2.8 to 6.6%, C: 4.7 to 7.0%, Cr: 7.5 to 10.0%, Ni: 4.5 to 6.5%, Co: 1.5 to 4.5%, Al: 0.6 to 1.0%, the balance being Fe and unavoidable impurities, wherein the method is carried out such that the alloy has a structure in which hard particles are dispersed in an island form in a matrix and, while an area ratio thereof is kept constant, a maximum circle equivalent diameter thereof is controlled to a predetermined value of 40 to 10 &#x3bc;m.

In order to ensure quality of pellets by eliminating temperature differences among extrusion nozzle holes with use of a heating medium flowing through heating channels only once and flowing out through a heating medium outlet, provided is a die plate for resin granulation, in which a plate main body () is divided into regions (A to n) for every 360/n (n=4, 6, or 8) degrees, or into first to fourth regions (A to D) for every 90 degrees, and an inner annular heating passage () and an outer annular heating passage () are formed. A cutter device includes a fixing holder, a spherical cylinder, and a cutter holder. The fixing holder has a through hole, and a spherical outer circumferential surface in which a key groove is formed. The spherical cylinder includes a through hole that has a spherical inner circumferential surface in which a key groove having a spherical bottom surface is formed, and a spherical outer circumferential surface having a key groove formed at a position shifted around a rotational axis with respect to the key groove. The cutter holder includes a through hole that has a spherical inner circumferential surface in which a through hole having a spherical bottom surface is formed, and a cutter blade. These components are rotationally slidably connected by keys.

A plastics granulating process wherein a cutter holder having cutter knives is driven to rotate along a die surface of a die and a housing is provided with a cutter drive shaft for driving the cutter holder to rotate in a manner so that plastics particles are obtained by cutting resin extruded from the die. A sleeve is axially movably provided in the housing so as to coaxially rotatably hold the cutter drive shaft, and a pressure medium is supplied into space chambers formed between the sleeve and the housing so that the cutter drive shaft moves axially with axial movement of the sleeve and the cutter knives presses against the die surface with a controlled thrust force.
