A coil component includes: a substrate body; a winding part formed by a conductive wire wound around a part of the substrate body; and terminal electrodes, each having a foundation part constituted by a metal plate provided to the substrate body, and a welded part formed on the foundation part wherein a part of the metal plate is welded to the conductive wire at a lead part led out from the winding part; wherein, based on a vertical line which passes through the peak point of the welded part where its height becomes the highest and which also intersects at right angles the foundation part, the distance from the vertical line to the surface of the welded part as viewed in a direction parallel with the foundation part is longer at a point closer to the foundation part when viewed at least in one direction from the vertical line.

Coil component and electronic device

A coil component includes: a pillar part, quadrangular planar parts formed at both ends of the pillar part, a coil formed by winding an insulating sheath conductor around the pillar part, electrode terminals that are electrically connected to both ends of the coil, and an outer sheath covering the coil at least partially; wherein the pillar part and quadrangular planar parts are made of ferrite material; the outer sheath contains metal magnetic grains and resin material; and based on a section obtained by cutting through the center of the pillar part vertically to the long-axis direction of the pillar part, the cross-section area of the pillar part is greater than the cross-section area of the outer sheath.

Coil component

A small wire-wound inductor has a drum-shaped core member constituted by an assembly of soft magnetic alloy grains, a coil conductive wire wound around the core member, a pair of terminal electrodes connected to the terminals of the coil conductive wire, and an outer sheath member covering the wound coil conductive wire and constituted by a magnetic powder-containing resin having a specified magnetic permeation ratio, wherein the soft magnetic alloy grains are fixedly bonded together via oxidized layers, and the core member contains 2 to 15 percent by weight of chromium (Cr).

Wire-wound inductor

An electronic component has a drum-shaped core member constituted by an assembly of soft magnetic alloy grains containing iron (Fe), silicate (Si) and chromium (Cr), a coil conductive wire wound around the core member, a pair of terminal electrodes connected to ends of the coil conductive wire, and an outer sheath resin part covering the wound coil conductive wire and constituted by a magnetic powder-containing resin; wherein there is an area where only the resin material in the magnetic powder-containing resin is permeated from the surface of the core member to a specified depth.

Electronic component and method of manufacturing the same

Provided are a small wire-wound inductor having desired inductor characteristics, while allowing for high-density mounting and low-height mounting on circuit boards at the same time, as well as a method for manufacturing such wire-wound inductor which has a drum-shaped core member constituted by an assembly of soft magnetic alloy grains containing iron (Fe), silicon (Si) and 2 to 15 percent by weight of chromium (Cr), a coil conductive wire wound around the core member, a pair of terminal electrodes connected to the terminals of the coil conductive wire, and an outer sheath member covering the wound coil conductive wire and constituted by a magnetic powder-containing resin having a specified magnetic permeation ratio.

A common mode choke coil has a plurality of metallic conducting wires buried into a sintered magnetic material such that the metallic conducting wires are proximate to each other and an electrode mounted on a surface of the sintered magnetic material so as to be connected to each end portion of each of the metallic conducting wires. The metallic conducting wires are integrally coated with a non-magnetic and electrically insulating material at a predetermined distance between each of the metallic conducting wires to thereby form coated conducting wires. The coated conducting wires buried into the sintered magnetic material are thus obtained.
