A wireless communication apparatus includes a power-supply apparatus configured to supply electric power to a load that is intermittently operated by using a battery as a power supply; and a control unit configured to control the power-supply apparatus, wherein the power-supply apparatus includes a capacitor; a switching unit capable of selectively forming a first path through which charging is performed from the battery to the capacitor and a second path through which the battery is connected in series with the capacitor, and wherein the control unit controls the switching unit so that the first path is formed during a period in which the load is idle and the second path is formed during a period in which the load is not idle, and thereby supplies the voltage of the sum of the battery voltage and the charged voltage of the capacitor in a non-idle period.

Wireless communication apparatus and power-supply apparatus

A transmitting system including a controller for supervising an address polling system; and a plurality of transmitting modules; connected in cascade to a pair of transmitting paths extending from the controller, for executing polling transmissions from the controller by using a logical address set in each transmitting module; wherein the controller sends a command message for setting the logical address and each transmitting module includes: a switching element circuit for opening and closing between input and output terminals connected to the transmitting paths; and a signal processing circuit for setting the logical address to an address assigned by the command message when a polling address of the command message is identical to the logical address, and for providing a signal to the switching element circuit according to the logical address.

Transmitting system with address polling for providing a control signal

A sensor device of the present invention is capable of surely detecting occurrence of a fire and a type of the fire. The sensor device includes a detection element made of an organic semiconductor element or an inorganic semiconductor element which is varied in characteristic value (i.e., resistance) thereof by both gas produced in a flaming-type fire and a smouldering-type fire and of which a variation in resistance by gas produced in a flaming-type fire is different in polarity from that by gas produced in a smouldering-type fire. A resistance of the detection element is extracted by a resistance extractor and then fed to a resistance decrease discriminator and a resistance increase discriminator, wherein a decrease or increase in resistance of the element is discriminated. An information output circuit outputs a predetermined signal depending on discrimination results provided by the discriminators, to thereby detect occurrence of a fire and/or a type of the fire.

A central monitoring and alarming system for monitoring and alarming an abnormal condition, for example fire and gas leakage, includes a central monitoring station having a memory device and a signal processor, plural terminals returning information detected by sensors included therein and a supporting terminal unit for specifying a proper address assigned to the terminal units respectively so that an operator can reliably know an address without looking at an address setter disposed in a terminal unit.

Central monitoring and alarming system

In a terminal device adapted to effect transmission and receipt of information through address polling by a central monitoring/control device, an address having a predetermined number of bits is preset in a first address setter, and an address comparator compares the address of a predetermined number of bits set in the first address setter with address data sent from the central monitoring/control device. As the result of this comparison, when the address of the predetermined number of bits set in the first address setter coincides with an address sent from the central monitoring/control device, the central monitoring/control device sends a new address, and this new address is set in a second address setter with respect to the terminal device whose address has coincided. Thus, after the new address is set in the second address setter of each of the terminal devices, the terminal devices are polled by the central monitoring/control device on the basis of these new addresses.

Terminal device for a monitoring and control system

An alarm apparatus includes a plurality of sensors connected in parallel with each other between sensor lines extending from a receiver and sounding devices connected between the sensor lines in correspondence to at least one of the sensors. The receiver includes a unit for changing a voltage supply condition of the sensor lines. A control circuit is provided to each audio device so as to selectively control the audio devices when the voltage supply condition is changed, so that a audio device corresponding to an activated sensor, or all of the audio devices, can be arbitrarily controlled to generate audio alarm signals.

Alarm apparatus

An environmental abnormality alarm apparatus includes a sensor for detecting a fire, gas leakage, a burglar, or the like in a monitoring area, and a signal processor for receiving an output from the sensor and evaluating the output for an alarm determination reference and generating an alarm. A detecting unit is provided in the monitoring area of the sensor to detect a change in environmental condition resulting from objects or conditions other than those to be detected by the sensor, and an alarm determination reference is changed in accordance with an output state of the detecting unit during signal processing.

Environmental abnormality alarm apparatus

A fire monitoring system used in a fire alarm arrangement includes a fire receiver and a plurality of fire sensors connected to signal/power supply zone lines from the fire receiver to a plurality of fire warning zones, the sensors for short-circuiting the respective zone lines with a low impedance in case of a fire. An analog detector having an address is located at a given warning zone among the fire warning zones. The analog detector is connected to the corresponding signal/power supply zone line through an analog sensor controller having an operation circuit for calculating an analog signal obtained by address polling from the analog detector.

Fire monitoring system

An environmental abnormality detection apparatus includes a detector for detecting environmental changes by monitoring physical changes in the environment and generating an output signal upon the detection of such an abnormality, a signal processor which generates an environmental abnormality signal based on the output of the detector, and a switching circuit connected between a pair of power source/signal lines. The apparatus further includes an oscillator and a control circuit which generates a signal for controlling the switching circuit obtained by the product of an output from the oscillator and the output of the signal processor. A power source is charged from the power source/signal lines, and supplies power to the detector, the signal processor and the oscillator.

Environmental abnormality detection apparatus

A separation type light blocking smoke detector detects smoke present between a light emitting section and a light receiving section spaced therefrom by detecting blocking of light between the light emitting section and the light receiving section. The detector includes a light emitting section driving circuit, a counting circuit, and a storage circuit. The light emitting section driving circuit changes the emission intensity of the light emitting section in accordance with a predetermined changing mode for every repetitive cycle. The counting circuit includes a first comparator and an updating signal generator, and counts a physical amount corresponding to a period during which an output from the light emitting section falls in a predetermined range for each repetitive changing cycle. The storage circuit includes a second comparator and an AND gate, and stores a count value of the counting circuit in an arbitrary repetitive cycle. The count value stored in the storage circuit and that from the counting circuit are compared by a third comparator.

Separation type light extinction smoke detector

A device for generating an alarm signal in the event of an environmental abnormality has multiple sensors, with a multiplier associated with each sensor, an adder, and a comparator. The sensors are disposed in respective sensing volumes, which may be different. The sensors detect a level of smoke, heat, gas or other environmental abnormality within each sensing volume, and convert the level into an electrical analog signal. The associated multiplier multiplies a coefficient proportional to the sensing volume for the associated sensor with the analog signals from the sensor. The adder adds the outputs of the multipliers. The comparator generates an alarm signal at an output thereof when the output of the adder exceeds a predetermined value.

Device for generating an alarm signal in the event of an environmental

A centralized monitoring method for fire alarm processing, wherein, with respect only to specially designated ones of plural terminal units at least special data common to the special terminal units is transmitted to a central unit with priority over all other data and irrespective of a predesignated calling sequence. The central unit then responds to the special terminal units with absolute priority.

Centralized monitoring method for security system

A detector system having multiple sensors, each sensor detecting a different danger condition, has an address comparator for determining whether an access address coincident with a selected address is present in an access signal received from a central monitoring unit. The detector exchanges an information signal with the central monitoring unit using the coincidence detection signal of the address comparator. Success coincidence detection signals, corresponding to successively selected addresses being present in the access signal, are counted by a counter. If the detector has two sensors, the counter may be a D flip-flop circuit, and if the detector has more than two sensors, the counter may be a ring counter. The counter generates a signal for operating respective analog switches connected to the outputs of each sensor so as to successively through-connect the output of one sensor to the output of the detector system for transmittal to the central monitoring unit.

Detector system with multiple sensors each sensing different danger

A composite detector includes a plurality of sensors of the same or different types, a plurality of analog switches connected to outputs of the plurality of sensors, and an operation circuit, such as an operational amplifier. The sensors detect physical phenomena such as heat, smoke and gas according to different principles of detection, and output analog detection signals. The analog switches are controlled by a selector operated with a control signal from a central monitor or magnitudes of outputs from the plurality of sensors. The operation circuit calculates outputs from the plurality of analog switches.

Composite detector

A device for generating an alarm signal in the event of an abnormality in the environment of a detector includes a pair of signal/power supply lines, a number of detectors for detecting an abnormality, e.g., fire, gas leakage, or burglary, and an alarm receiver including a signal processing circuit for receiving a signal from a detector indicating the presence of an abnormality. The signal process circuit includes a signal storage circuit, and a converting circuit for changing one or a combination of at least two of a polarity, voltage, current, or impedance of a power source if the abnormality persists for a predetermined time. The change in the power source parameter is supplied via the supply lines to a signal holding circuit in the vicinity of the detector. The signal holding circuit is responsive to the changed parameter and changes state, thus providing an indication at the detector that the abnormality has persisted for the predetermined time.
