An intermediate transfer element has at least one or more elastic layers and a toner releasing layer provided on the surface of the elastic layer and has a surface shape including minute projections up to 60 &mgr;m and at least 20 &mgr;m high. By providing the intermediate transfer element with such projections, easy separation with respect to a poorly separable recording medium, such as thin paper is achieved, and an image free from image defects, such as white speckles.

In a dynamoelectric machine having a stator assembly of coil windings and a core, a heat-dissipating, uninflammable, electro-insulative housing encapsulates the coil windings and the core. The housing is made of a cured molded article or material formed of a resin-filler composition which comprises a liquid unsaturated polyester resin, a finely divided calcium carbonate powder, an inorganic mineral particulate having a particle size larger than that of the calcium carbonate powder, a chopped glass fiber and an aluminum hydroxide powder, wherein the ratio by weight of the calcium carbonate to the mineral particulate is 0.3 to 4, the ratio of the weight of glass fiber to the total weight of the composition is 0.05 to 0.25, the ratio of the weight of the polyester resin to the total weight of the composition is 0.1 to 0.4, the weight ratio of the calcium carbonate powder, the mineral particulate and the glass fiber to the total weight of the composition is 0.15 to 0.80, and the weight ratio of the aluminum hydroxide powder to the total weight of the composition is 0.1 to 0.6.

A copper barrier type, nuclear fuel cladding is produced by forming an oxide layer on the inner wall surface of a tube of zirconium or zirconium alloy and then applying electroless copper plating to the oxide layer with a solution containing at least a copper salt, a complexing agent, a reducing agent, and 2,2'-dipyridyl, or further together with polyalkylene glycol as a plating solution. A good adhesiveness is obtained between the copper barrier layer and the oxide layer.

Apparatus for applying chemical plating to inner surfaces of tubular members including a tank for storing a plating solution, a table for supporting a plurality of tubular members to be simultaneously plated, a plating solution distributing member connected to the storage tank via a plating solution supply line mounting a pump, and a plating solution collecting member connected to the storage tank via a plating solution return line. To provide a liquidtight seal, each tubular member to be plated is connected at its plating solution inlet end to the distributing member through a first connector and at its plating solution outlet end to the collecting member through a second connector. Each tubular member supported on the table, which is suitably inclined to allow hydrogen gas to be released through the plating solution outlet end of each tubular member to be plated, is encased in a supporting member formed of insulating material and comprising detachably attached two halves. The plating solution distributing and collecting members are similar in shape, the former having an inverted T-shape and the latter a T-shape. The storage tank is connected to a heater to keep constant the temperature of the plating solution and has a monitoring sample inserted therein to indicate the thickness of the coating.
