An image-capturing device includes: an instruction unit that issues a photographing instruction signal; an image sensor that obtains frame images over predetermined time intervals; a storage unit into which a plurality of frame images obtained via the image sensor are sequentially stored; a save candidate designation unit that designates a plurality of frame images obtained before and after an output of the photographing instruction signal among a plurality of frame images stored in the storage unit as save candidate images that may be saved into a recording medium; and a control unit that controls the save candidate designation unit so as to designate as the save candidates a plurality of frame images obtained before and after a second photographing instruction signal issued within a predetermined length of time following the output of the photographing instruction signal.

A display apparatus includes an input section inputting an image of subject obtained by imaging a person who is a subject, a display section displaying the image of subject being input, a viewer imaging section imaging a viewer viewing the image of subject and generating an image of viewer, a viewer face-detection section detecting a face of the viewer by using the image of viewer, a viewer face-recognition section performing facial recognition based on individual parts of the face of the viewer being detected, an image processing section performing image correction on the image of subject based on a result of the facial recognition performed on the viewer, and a control section switching a display from the image of subject to the image of subject on which the image correction is performed.

The present invention relates to a portable terminal in which the orientation of the displayed subject is the same as the actual orientation of the subject. Either of two power off modes can be selected in a digital camera that reads out images from an image-capturing element, temporarily stores them in a buffer memory and then transfers and records the images from the buffer memory into a recording medium. In a first power off mode, the supply of stabilized power is stopped in response to a main switch off operation only after unrecorded images present in the buffer memory are all recorded into the recording medium. In a second power off mode, the supply of the stabilized power is stopped immediately in response to a main switch off operation regardless of whether or not there are yet-to-be recorded images present in the buffer memory. The power is cut off in conformance to the current power off mode setting when the main switch is turned off.

An apparatus which includes an optical system and a driving member. The optical system is shiftable from an origin position coinciding with an optical axis of the apparatus, to reduce image vibration affecting the apparatus. The driving member is movable from a first position to a second position. When the driving member is in the first position, the optical system is unlocked and is therefore shiftable to reduce image vibration. When the driving member moves from the first position to the second position and the optical system is not at the origin position, the driving member guides the optical system to, and then locks the optical system at, the origin position.
