An armrest for vehicle seat is provided, whose armrest body has a region so configured as to surround a connecting portion by which the armrest is rotatably connected with a seat back of the seat, wherein a cubic trim cover assembly of the armrest is formed with a local side defined on and along such region of armrest body. Formed in such local side of trim cover assembly is an injection hole for allowing injection of a liquid foaming material into the inside of trim cover assembly, so that the injection hole itself is not exposed outwardly of the armrest body, thus keeping the user away from contact with an objectionable spot originating from a part of liquid foaming material that has been leaked through the injection hole and cured there during a foaming process. The connecting portion may include a tubular bearing, and the injection hole may be formed at any point in that particular local side for coaxial alignment with the tubular bearing, during the foaming process, so that an injection nozzle may be introduced through the tubular bearing precisely into the injection hole.

Armrest for vehicle seat and method of forming the same

A structure of a footrest body in a vehicle seat, in which an air blower is provided under the seat to supply a hot or cold air toward a back side of the seat, and the footrest is equipped on the back wall of seat, with the free end of footrest body being contacted with a floor. In such type of footrest body structure, an opening is defined in the footrest body, though which opening the hot or cold air is permitted to be flowed from the blower toward the back side of seat, without hindrance of the footrest body body per se. It is further arranged that the footrest body can be lowered when it is set in the upright non-use position, to thereby improve the aesthetic appearance of the back wall of seat.

Structure of footrest in vehicle seat

A method and device for controlling a headrest in an automotive seat. The method and device are programmed in a central processing unit, according to which the headrest is firstly raised from the use position upon a seat back, thus making greater the rotation radius along which the headrest is rotated, and then rotatively displaced from the use position to a non-use position, in order to attain a good backward view field at the rear window of the automobile. Thus, no contact is made between the bottom surface of the headrest and upper surface of the seat back, during the displacements of the headrest between its use and non-use positions. The processing steps in the present invention involves detecting a rear-seat occupant, and separate headrest controlling by either of a driver and rear-seat occupant.

Method and device for controlling headrest in automotive seat

A headrest of a movable type, having a headrest body fixed via a stay to a shaft within a seat back. In such a headrest, the shaft is rotatably supported, and a motor is fixed within the seat back such that the motor is disposed at the lower part of the lateral side of the seat back and has a second sprocket. The second sprocket is connected via an endless chain with a first sprocket fixed on the shaft. Thus, the drive of the motor causes a fore-and-aft rotation of the headrest body whereby the headrest body is displaced between a use and non-use position, with repect to the seat back.
