A cutter head for an electric shaver comprises an outer shearing foil provided with a series of hair entrance slots arranged in a row. Cooperating with the outer shearing foil is an inner cutter assembly which includes at least one inner blade having a cutting edge elongated in a general direction of the length of each slot and is driven to move in relation to the shearing foil so that the cutting edge is in hair shearing relation with the row of the slots. Formed with the inner blade is a hair scooping projection which projects in a general direction of the movement of the cutting edge and define a sloping edge extending downwardly and outwardly from the cutting edge such that a long hair strands entering the slots can, as the inner blade advances, be slid or guide along the sloping edge up to the cutting edge where the strand is successfully sheared against the edge of the slot. The cutting edge is dimensioned to have its longitudinal ends positioned within the length of each slot so that the cutting edge is not in sliding engagement with the portion of the outer shearing foil other than the webs separating the adjacent slots. Accordingly, the resistance between the cutting edge and the shearing foil is reduced to enable a smooth shearing operation at a minimum power requirement. Also, the hair scooping projection proceeds along the row of the slots in advance of the cutting edge upon the movement of the inner blade in such a way as to straddle across the adjacent webs on both sides of each slot, thus preventing the cutting edge from falling into the slot.

A reciprocating type electric shaver comprises an inner-blade mount holding many inner blades and connected to a first driver-element converting rotary motion of a motor into reciprocating motions and an outer blade connected to a second driver-element reciprocated at a mechanical phase reverse to the first driver-element so that the inner blades and outer blade can slidably engage with each other mutually at mechanically reverse phase and the relative momentum of the outer blade with respect to the inner blades can be enlarged.

Shaving blade assembly for rotary type electric shaver, improved specifically in raising and shearing abilities for such irregular beard hair as curly, bent or lying hair. The assembly comprises an outer blade of flexible steel foil and provided with hair introducing apertures including slits and orifices, the former extending substantially radially in the peripheral edge part in a substantially dome-shaped spherical hair shaving area and the latter being provided in the central part inside the edge part, and with at least a groove-shaped bent part formed as an inward recess along an annular line concentric with the peripheral wall with respect to the center axis of the blade, and an inner blade member shearing hair introduced in the apertures including the irregular hair advantageously led into the slits by inner blades carried on the member with their shearing edges resiliently slidably engaged with the inner surface of the outer blade in its radial directions rotatably about the center axis of the outer blade and respectively having an incision corresponding to the bent part of the outer blade. The slits extend axially through both inner and outer periphery walls of the bent part from the spherical surfaces of its inner and outer peripheral edges, and the incision of each inner blade separates its edge part opposed to both the peripheral walls of the bent part of the outer blade from these peripheral walls to facilitate the introduction of comparatively long irregular hair.

Shaving blade assembly for rotary type electric shaver

A hair clipper comprising a fixed blade and a movable blade which performs a sliding movement in a pressed contact with said fixed blade, wherein each cutting tooth of said movable blade moves to cross accurately its corresponding cutting notch of the fixed blade, so that the hair caught between said notches of the fixed blade can be cut perfectly.
