The present invention provides a process for producing a conjugated diene polymer, the process including a production step of producing a conjugated diene polymer solution containing a conjugated diene polymer and a solvent, and a devolatilization step of heating the conjugated diene polymer solution while conveying the conjugated diene polymer solution with an apparatus having rotary twin screws, thereby devolatilizing the solvent, in which a motor current value of the screw in the devolatilization step and a motor current value of the screw under no load satisfy a predetermined relational expression.

Provided is a curable resin composition which can provide a cured article having a low dielectric constant and a low dielectric tangent, and can also provide a cured article having excellent moldability at ordinary press-molding temperatures, excellent heat resistance and excellent adhesion properties. The present invention provides a curable resin composition containing a polyphenylene ether, wherein the average number of phenolic hydroxy groups is 0.3 or more per molecule of the polyphenylene ether, the resin flow amount of the curable resin composition upon curing is 0.3 to 15% inclusive, and a cured article having a dielectric tangent of 0.005 or less at 1 GHz and a glass transition temperature of 170&#xb0; C. or higher can be produced.

A resin composition including a resin and a hydrogen storage alloy powder. When hydrogen gas is absorbed-released in a hydrogen storage vessel obtained by filling the resin composition in the vessel such that a ratio V2/V1 between a volume V2 of the hydrogen storage alloy powder and an inner volume V1 of the vessel becomes 40 to 80 vol %, a distortion &#x3b1; produced on a wall of the hydrogen storage vessel is 1,000&#xd7;10or less.

An object of the invention is to provide a functionalized polyphenylene ether useful for polymer alloys or electrical or electronic materials such as printed boards or insulating sealants. The invention relates to a functionalized polyphenylene ether having an average of not fewer than 0.1 unit of a structure represented by the following formula (1) per molecular chain: wherein n is an integer of 9 or more, R1 is an organic substituent having an epoxy group, and R2 is a hydrogen atom or an organic substituent having an epoxy group.

The present invention can provide a resin composition comprising epoxy-modified polyphenylene ethers which show good solubility in MEK or acetone which has been conventionally used in a manufacturing process for printed boards of epoxy resins, and has high heat resistance originating from polyphenylene ethers. Specifically, the resin composition of the present invention contains (C) an epoxy-modified polyphenylene ether obtained by reacting (A) a polyphenylene ether having a content of volatile components of 0.1-5.0% by weight and a number of average molecular weight of 500 or more and less than 1.0&#xd7;10and (B) a cresol-novolac type epoxy resin at a modification ratio of component (A) of 5-95%, wherein (B') a cresol-novolac type epoxy resin is contained in an amount of 10-900 parts by weight based on 100 parts by weight of the total of the reaction products (C), and (A&#x2032;) a polyphenylene ether.

The present invention relates to a functionalized polyphenylene ether which has, in its molecule, at least one functional group selected from a carboxyl group, an acid anhydride group, an amino group, an amide group, an imide group, a silyl group, a hydroxyl group and a glycidyl group, and which gives a proton NMR spectrum with a peak area ratio (A)/(B) of 0.0001 or greater, wherein (A) is the area of peaks at chemical shifts from 2.95 to 3.04 ppm, and (B) is the area of peaks at chemical shifts from 6.00 to 6.90 ppm. Having a novel structure that has not been obtained by conventional techniques, the functionalized polyphenylene ether of the present invention has an excellent color tone, contains little black foreign substance, and provides polymer alloys with superior mechanical characteristics when blended with different polymers, and therefore makes it possible to provide products and parts in various industrial fields that will sufficiently meet the industrial demands.
