Some embodiments are directed to an assembly for housing and covering a vehicle airbag in an un-deployed state. The assembly can include a hollow housing that defines an interior that is configured to house the airbag in the un-deployed state. The housing can include a door having a linearly extending primary weakened portion spanning longitudinally opposing ends of the housing. The housing door can also include a pair of angled seams that each extend proximate the primary weakened portion to a location adjacent opposing corners of the door. The assembly can also include an intermediate layer disposed over and joined to the housing door, and an exterior layer disposed over and joined to the intermediate layer.

Vehicle restraint apparatus and methods of use and manufacture thereof

In an automobile instrument panel structure, an upper meter provided in an upper front part of an instrument panel main body is disposed so as to correspond to an upper side of an upper half of a steering wheel, and a lower meter provided in a lower rear part of the instrument panel main body is disposed so as to correspond to a lower side of the upper half of the steering wheel. It is thus possible to reliably view the upper meter and the lower meter without being obstructed by the steering wheel. Further, since an upper edge of a panel in which the upper meter is disposed has a shape substantially conforming to the upper half of the steering wheel, there is no disagreeable sensation even when the upper meter, which has conventionally been disposed in a laterally central part of the instrument panel main body, is disposed in front of the driver. Furthermore, since the panel can be attached to and detached from the instrument panel main body, maintenance can easily be carried out for the upper meter and the lower meter by removing the panel.

An air conditioner outlet vent device includes a housing having a blow-out hole at its front end; a plurality of fins which are supported in parallel in the blow-out hole and each of which is capable of pivoting about its axis, the axes being parallel to one another; a common link which extends in an arrangement direction of the fins and to which the fins are pivotably connected at their rear ends; a pair of outer fins disposed at opposite ends in the arrangement direction of the fins, the outer fins each integrally including a shield plate which protrudes toward one of a pair of sidewalls of the housing so as to define opposite ends of the blow-out hole. In this device, a distance between a support point of each of the outer fins in the housing and a linkage point of the outer fin to the link is set larger than a distance between a support point of each of the fins other than the outer fins and its linkage point to the link. Thus, it is possible to effectively prevent the directivity of an air blow-out direction from being detracted.
