A control unit performs a lane departure suppression control when a host vehicle is about to depart from a traveling lane. The control unit determines whether a low impact collision has occurred. The control unit performs a secondary collision damage mitigation control when the low impact collision is determined to have occurred while the lane departure suppression control is being performed.

Driving assistance apparatus

A control unit determines whether a rapid acceleration pedal depression operation has been performed. The control unit determines whether a low impact collision has occurred. When it is determined that the rapid acceleration pedal depression operation has been performed and the low impact collision has occurred, the control unit executes a secondary collision damage mitigation control. Consequently, the secondary collision damage mitigation control can be appropriately executed even when a collision that does not cause an air bag to be inflated has occurred.

A driving assist apparatus comprises a driver monitor sensor which detects a state of a driver of an own vehicle installed with the driving assist apparatus. The apparatus determines whether the driver is in a drowsy state, based on the state of the driver detected by the driver monitor sensor. The apparatus determines that a light collision occurs when a light collision determination condition that at least one collision index value representing a level of a collision of the own vehicle is larger than a light collision determination threshold at which an airbag is not developed, is satisfied. The apparatus executes a secondary collision damage mitigation control to apply a braking force to the own vehicle or limit a driving force applied to the own vehicle when determining that the driver is in the drowsy state, and the light collision occurs.

Driving assist apparatus

A control apparatus for controlling a vehicle which is provided with a braking/driving force varying device capable of individually changing a braking/driving force acting on each of wheels (FL, FR, RL, RR) with respect to each wheel. The control apparatus includes a target state quantity setting device for setting a target state quantity corresponding to a target motion state of the vehicle; and a target braking/driving force setting device for setting a target braking/driving force, which is a target value of the braking/driving force, such that a state quantity corresponding to the target state quantity and a steering reaction force transmitted to a steering apparatus from the wheel are the set target state quantity and a predetermined target steering reaction force, respectively, on the basis of a relative relation, which is set in advance, between the state quantity and the steering reaction force, and a left-right braking/driving force difference of front wheels and a left-right braking/driving force difference of rear wheels.

Control apparatus for vehicle

A vehicle motion control apparatus which is configured to control a motion of a vehicle comprising a plurality of apparatuses, each of which is configured to selectively control a slip angle or a yaw rate, is provided with: a behavior controlling device which is configured to perform behavior control in which a plurality of apparatuses are controlled such that a slip angle and a yaw rate are a set target slip angle and a target yaw rate, respectively; a turning state quantity specifying device which is configured to specify a turning state quantity of the vehicle; and a selecting device which is configured to select at least one of the slip angle and the yaw rate to be prioritized, on the basis of the specified turning state quantity in a case where the behavior control needs to be performed by one of the plurality of apparatuses. The behavior controlling device controls the one apparatus such that the selected one has the target value corresponding to the selected one, in the case where the behavior control needs to be performed by the one apparatus.

Vehicle steering control apparatus

A vehicle braking apparatus that can exert high braking performance during vehicle braking is implemented by a control mode that can be realized in a braking apparatus () of usual hardware. In controlling the braking apparatus () of a vehicle, a climb rate of a wheel cylinder braking oil pressure (Pw) is decreased smaller than a climb rate corresponding to a climb rate of a master cylinder oil pressure (Pm) from a time point at which the wheel cylinder braking oil pressure (Pw) reaches a predetermined threshold value. The time point at which the wheel cylinder braking oil pressure (Pw) reaches the predetermined threshold value (P) is estimated based on the climb process of the master cylinder oil pressure (Pm) or directly detected.
