To reduce power consumption of a receiver that acquires its current position by using a signal from a satellite. The receiver includes a reception section, a signal processing section, and a positioning process section. In this receiver, the reception section receives a signal from a predetermined satellite as a reception signal. The signal processing section performs a process of determining whether or not a reception signal received from the reception section includes a specific message. The positioning process section performs a positioning process of acquiring a current position in a case where the reception signal includes a specific message.

Receiver and control method of the same

A satellite positioning signal receiving device that performs positioning using satellite observation information in a plurality of frequency bands enables gradual addition in accordance with a required number of frequency bands. The satellite positioning signal receiving device includes at least one satellite positioning signal receiving circuit that supports a single frequency band, receives a satellite positioning signal, and generates satellite observation information. Each of the satellite positioning signal receiving circuits includes a synchronization control interface that synchronizes the satellite positioning signal receiving circuits with each other, and a satellite information transmission interface that shares the satellite observation information between the satellite positioning signal receiving circuits. The satellite positioning signal receiving device performs positioning on the basis of satellite observation information.

The presence or absence of a preamble is detected with accuracy in a reception apparatus that receives a signal including a preamble. A reception section receives a subframe including a subframe preamble and a message and a frame including a frame preamble. A processing section performs a process of detecting the presence or absence of the subframe preamble according to whether or not a given relation holds between a reception timing of the subframe preamble and a reception timing of the frame preamble. A message decoding section extracts the message from the subframe and decodes the message in a case where the presence of the subframe preamble is detected.

This invention relates to a demodulating apparatus and a demodulating method for demodulating an input signal more quickly than before when the channels of the input signal are inverted. A correlatorcalculates a correlation value indicative of the correlation between a known delayed detection sequence made of symbols of correct delayed detection values of a known sequence inserted in the input signal and a received delayed detection sequence obtained through delay detection of the input signal. If the imaginary part of the correlation value is less than zero, a channel control sectionswitches the channels of the input signal before feeding the signal to a frame synchronization circuit. This invention can be applied illustratively to a satellite broadcast receiving apparatus.
