A recorded matter having a three-dimensional image is produced by a method comprising the steps of: applying, to a recording medium including a substrate and a foaming layer provided thereon, a foam-promoting liquid containing water and a foam-promoting component; and heating the foaming layer. The foaming layer contains a binder resin and a foaming particle which foams as heated, while the foam-promoting component lowers a foaming start temperature of the foaming particle. The foaming particle includes a shell layer containing a thermoplastic resin and a volatile material encapsulated in the shell layer. The binder resin contains a water-insoluble resin, while the foam-promoting component contains a compound having no hydroxyl group.

A method of producing a recorded matter including a stereoscopic image includes applying, onto a recording medium including a foamable layer, a first liquid composition containing a foam promoting or preventing component, and applying, onto the recording medium, a second liquid composition that does not contain the foam promoting or preventing component and the coloring material. The recording medium according to the present invention includes a substrate, an ink receiving layer (), and an ink receiving layer () arranged on the outermost surface. The ink receiving layer () has a thickness of 10 nm or more and 4000 nm or less. The ink receiving layer () contains a first inorganic particle and a first binder, and the ink receiving layer () contains a second inorganic particle and a second binder. The first binder and the second binder are each a water-insoluble resin. The contact angle θformed between water and a surface of the ink receiving layer () is 90° or more, and the contact angle θformed between water and the surface of the ink receiving layer () is 60° or more and 85° or less.

A recording method includes a step of applying a first ink to a recording medium; and a step of recording an image on the recording medium by applying a second ink so that the second ink at least partially overlaps a region to which the first ink has been applied.
