To provide novel low-temperature sinterable copper particles that can be sintered even at a low temperature of, for example, around 100&#xb0; C. or less, and a method for producing a sintered body by using the same. The low-temperature sinterable copper particles according to the present invention are coated with a carboxylic acid, and a surface of the copper particle is oxidized so as to have a cuprous oxide fraction (CuO/(Cu+CuO)) in the copper particle of 4% by mass or less or so as to have an average coating thickness of cuprous oxide of 10 nm or less. The low-temperature sinterable copper particles are subjected to low-temperature firing in an atmosphere of 0.01 Pa or less.

The hydrogen storage material of the invention is a hydrogen storage material comprising metal fine particles with hydrogen storage capacity, and an organic compound that has at least two specific groups that can bind with the metal fine particles, and that is bonded with the metal fine particles by the specific groups.

Used is a sample holder for MALDI mass spectrometry, which has a CuO secondary particle as a laser-beam-absorbing matrix and in which the secondary particle comprises an aggregate of CuO primary particles having an average particle diameter of 100 nm or smaller and has an uneven surface arising from the shape formed by the primary particles constituting the outermost surface of the secondary particle. As the CuO secondary particle, usable is one derived from a CuO powder produced by baking basic copper carbonate in air at 200 to 300&#xb0; C., and the basic copper carbonate is produced in a process of mixing an aqueous ammonium hydrogencarbonate solution and an aqueous copper nitrate solution. The CuO secondary particle has an average particle diameter of, for example, from 0.3 to 10 &#x3bc;m.
