A D seat front beam has an inner end in a vehicle width direction fixed to a first column support point, and a point of fixation of the D seat front beam to the front lower pillar is provided further on a rear side in a vehicle front and rear direction than a first column support point. The D seat front beam extends toward an inner side in the vehicle width direction and toward the front side in the vehicle front and rear direction, from the point of fixation to the front lower pillar toward the first column support point.

Steering support structure

The instrument panel reinforcement includes a column attachment portion, a side end portion, and an inclined portion. The side end portion is fixed to a front lower pillar. The inclined portion is provided between the column attachment portion and the side end portion, extends toward an inner side in the vehicle width direction and toward a rear side in a vehicle front and rear direction from a bent portion at an inner end in the vehicle width direction of the side end portion, and is connected to the column attachment portion. A cowl to brace has a rear end fixed to the bent portion of the instrument panel reinforcement.

A gusset is joined to an instrument panel reinforcement and a floor brace. The instrument panel reinforcement includes a D seat rear beam extending from a portion to be joined to the floor brace to a portion for supporting the steering column. The D seat rear beam includes a D seat upper beam having a hat-shaped cross section open toward a lower side. The gusset includes a reinforcement joint portion that is joined to the D seat upper beam to form a closed cross section.

A vehicle child safety seat includes: a seat main body on which an occupant sits; a seat belt for restraining the occupant to the seat main body, the seat belt including a shoulder harness having a long belt shape and facing a shoulder of the occupant; and a shoulder pad including a hold member formed of a material having a flexibility into an elongated shape and placed between the shoulder of the occupant and the shoulder harness along a longitudinal direction of the shoulder harness, attached to the shoulder harness slidably in the longitudinal direction, and including a plurality of hard members formed of a material harder than the hold member and provided side by side at intervals therebetween in a longitudinal direction of the hold member, the plurality of hard members being attached to a shoulder-harness-side surface of the hold member.

A vehicle child safety seat includes: a seat main body on which an occupant sits; a seat belt for restraining the occupant to the seat main body, the seat belt including a shoulder harness having a long belt shape and facing a shoulder of the occupant; a shoulder pad placed between the shoulder of the occupant and the shoulder harness; and a harness cover formed in a pouch shape, having paired insertion holes through which the shoulder harness is passed so that the harness cover is attached to the shoulder harness, accommodating the shoulder pad therein, and having an opening so that the shoulder pad is put in and out via the opening in a state where the harness cover is attached to the shoulder harness.

A vehicle buckle support apparatus is arranged between a console box and a seat cushion. The vehicle buckle support apparatus includes a cylindrical inner boot that covers an inner webbing that connects a buckle and an anchor plate together. A thin portion is formed in a width direction of the inner webbing, on a middle portion in a height direction of a seat-side side wall portion of the inner boot.

A passenger seat airbag apparatus includes: an airbag which is housed in a folded state inside an instrument panel, and which inflates toward a passenger with a supply of gas during a frontal collision of a vehicle, and which has a vent hole that can be opened and closed; a tether whose first end is linked to a periphery of the vent hole in the airbag, and which closes the vent hole due to tension that is caused when the airbag inflates; an actuator which has a first hole that a second end of the tether is passed through, and which discontinues a linked state of the tether by cutting the tether if a predetermined condition is satisfied; and a protective member that is attached to the actuator so as to cover at least an edge portion of the first hole, and that is interposed between the edge portion and the tether.

Passenger seat airbag apparatus

In a knee airbag device mounted on a steering column, an opening that provides a workspace when a wire harness connector that extends from the steering column is connected to a wiring connector provided at one end portion of an inflator is formed in a side wall of a lower cover (or column cover) opposite the connector of the inflator. By using the opening, the connector of the wire harness may be easily connected to the connector of the inflator, which is mounted transversely with respect to the axial direction of the steering column. The opening is closed by a lid.

Steering column mounted knee airbag device

The invention has the object of increasing workability of an attachment operation of a knee airbag module of a column-mounted knee airbag device. When fixing a knee airbag module to a lower portion outer peripheral surface of a steering column, it is possible to perform the fixing from a vehicle upper side and a vehicle rear side of the steering column, using a space between an instrument panel (interior member) at a vehicle upper side of the steering column and a combination switch provided at a rear end side of the steering column. Accordingly, when performing an attachment operation of the knee airbag module to the steering column, an operator does not have to enter from a lower side of the steering column.

Column-mounted knee airbag device

A vertical cell is formed in a forward inflation section of an airbag. The vertical cell extends in a vehicle height direction at the rear of a pillar, and communicates through a bottom end of the vertical cell with a horizontal cell. When the inflation section is deployed, the folded horizontal cell or the lower side part of the airbag is pulled back toward the passenger compartment with respect to the side window opening. Accordingly, the horizontal cell deploys to an area below a bottom edge of the side window opening or a beltline in the passenger compartment on the inner side of a front side door.

Head protecting airbag system

A supplemental inflation part is formed in a portion of an upper-end side inflation section of an airbag, the portion overlapping a B-pillar garnish. The supplemental inflation part has a semicircular shape that forms a push-out part. Folding the push-out part allows the upper-end side inflation section to be inflated largely at the initial stage of deployment of the airbag. Thus, the airbag is pushed toward the passenger compartment with greater force upon its deployment. Therefore, a terminal part of a headliner that covers the folded airbag is largely opened so that the airbag deploys smoothly downward along the side of the vehicle body in the passenger compartment without interference from the top end of the B-pillar garnish.

A curtain airbag device includes a gas generator and a curtain airbag configured to be deployed downward along an inner side surface of a vehicle cabin. The curtain airbag includes a front portion configured to be fixed to at least two sections of a pillar of a vehicle such that the front portion is disposed along a direction in which the pillar extends. A virtual equilateral triangle having a line connecting the first and second sections as a first side of the equilateral triangle is formed in the front portion of the curtain airbag. A region surrounded by the sides of the equilateral triangle includes a portion of an inflatable chamber that is configured to be inflated by receiving gas from the gas generator.

Curtain airbag device

A curtain airbag device for holding a vehicle occupant inside a vehicle cabin at a region of the curtain airbag. A front region of the curtain airbag may be provided with non-inflatable portions. Attachment parts may extending from an upper section, a lower section, and an intermediate section of a front edge of the curtain airbag an attach to a front pillar of the vehicle. When the curtain airbag is inflated, high tensions are generated at areas which are rear extensions of the attachment parts, whereby the front region of the curtain airbag forms a hammock-like structure.

A curtain airbag includes an inflatable cell below a non-inflatable portion that resists being bent when the curtain airbag is inflated. The curtain airbag has a non-inflatable portion and a plurality of inflatable cells that are disposed in front of, behind, above, and below the non-inflatable portion. The lower-side inflatable cell is formed in a convex shape that projects downwardly. When the curtain airbag is inflated, a tensile force acting to pull up the lower-side inflatable cell is generated in the non-inflatable portion. However, as the inflatable cell is formed in a convex shape that projects downwardly, the inflatable cell resists being pulled up and is, therefore, prevented from being bent.
