This invention is directed to a video signal transmitting/receiving apparatus adapted for converting a series of video signals into picture data in predetermined block units to send out it to a transmission path in the asynchronous transfer mode to thereby transmit a first video material formed by the series of video signals to transmission object, and adapted for receiving picture data inputted in the predetermined block units by the asynchronous transfer mode through the transmission path to convert it into a series of video signals to thereby receive a second video material formed by the series of video signals transmitted from transmission object. In this apparatus, an approach is employed to once record a series of digital video signals onto the prescribed video signal recording medium thereafter to intermittently reproduce those digital video signals to send out them to the transmission path of the asynchronous transfer mode, or an approach is employed to record a series of data received from the transmission path of the asynchronous transfer mode onto the recording medium to output those data, thus allowing digital video signals of the synchronous transfer system to undergo transmission by way of the transmission path of the asynchronous transfer mode such as B-ISDN, etc. Thus, video materials are caused to undergo transmission/reception through the transmission path of this kind to have ability of improving the working efficiency.

Video signal transmission apparatus

In a data recording apparatus, the period of the first clock signal corresponding to the record data is multiplied by the stated numeric corresponding to the transfer rate with the clock signal forming structure, so that the second clock signal is formed. And, on the basis of the record data and the second clock signal, the recording current corresponding to the transfer rate that is formed by highlighting the high-frequency component in accordance with the transfer rate and by limiting the band in accordance with the transfer rate is generated with the recording current generating structure. Then, the recording data is recorded on the recording medium with the recording structure on the basis of the recording current, therefore, even if the transfer rate varies, it is able to equalize highlighting operation of high-frequency component of the recording current and to equalize band limitation so as to keep the frequency characteristics approximately constant. In this way, it is able to form nearly identical magnetization pattern on a recording medium even in the case where the transfer rate varies.

Data recording apparatus

Cassette managing data is read or written with a cassette accommodated in its bin. Cassettes 2a, 2b, 2c, and so on are attached at particular positions thereof to IC cards 1a, 1b, 1c, and so on respectively. Cassette bins 4a, 4b, 4c, and so on have read/write devices 3a, 3b, 3c and so on respectively at positions communicable with the IC cards. Control information of each cassette is read with the cassette accommodated in its bin from the read/write device and the read control information is controlled by a control server 5 via a LAN 9a. A robotics unit 8 is controlled by the control server 5 via a LAN 9c to move cassettes to the bins 4a, 4b, 4c, and so on or an image and/or sound information input/output block 7.

Cassette managing system

A magnetic recording and reproducing apparatus in which a magnetic head contacts a recording medium to record or reproduce a signal onto or from the recording medium. The apparatus includes a measurement unit for measuring an abrasion amount of the magnetic head and outputting measurement data. A display unit displays the abrasion amount of the magnetic head represented by the measurement data outputted from the measurement unit.

A motion picture film having digital audio data recorded in at least one sound track thereof. Such digital audio data includes a plurality of bytes of data each having 8 bits of data. Each respective bit of each byte of audio data is recorded in a sound track of the film in the film running direction and each byte is arranged side-by-side in a direction normal to the film running direction to form a compression processing block. C1 parity data is added to each such compression processing block and C2 parity data is added after a predetermined interval of plural compression processing blocks. Error correction may be performed by utilizing the C1 and C2 parity data for each compression processing block and at the predetermined interval of plural compression blocks.

Motion picture film and a technique for recording and/or reproducing

During recording, a system controller 12 controls a travel control unit 4 to make a magnetic tape travel in a forward direction or a reverse direction at a constant speed and controls a drive motor 59 to cause a rotating drum 8 to rotate at a constant rotational speed so that one recording track is formed during a period where the magnetic tape is made to travel by at least two recording tracks. Further, the system controller 12 controls a reference voltage generation unit 13, controls an angle of inclination of the rotating drum 8 in accordance with the direction of travel of the magnetic tape, and controls the angle of inclination of the path of the magnetic head 9 on the magnetic tape to be constant regardless of the direction of travel so as to perform the recording.

Signal recording or reproducing apparatus

A magnetic recording and reproducing apparatus amplifies a current representing a recording signal reproduced from an information signal recorded on a magnetic tape, suppresses low frequency components of the current amplified signal, then amplifies a voltage representing the suppressed signal. The voltage amplified signal is supplied from a primary winding of a rotary transformer inside a drum to a secondary winding of the rotary transformer disposed outside the drum, and then its low frequency components are emphasized. This avoids the problems of an inadequate S/N in the low frequency components of the output of a voltage amplifier, and difficulty in providing a high voltage signal from a current amplifier. The emphasized signal is supplied to one of a plurality of equalizing circuits that respectively equalize a signal reproduced at one of a plurality of frequencies. The inputs of the equalizing circuits and a terminating resistance are connected to serially located nodes of a transmission line, with higher frequency equalizing circuits disposed closer to the terminating resistance, thereby avoiding introduction of amplitude distortion in the emphasized signal due to reflection along the transmission line.

Magnetic recording and reproducing apparatus having a drum preamplifier

A magnetic sensor is disposed in an opposing relationship to a rotating magnetic head device with a magnetic head mounted thereon and placed in noncontact therewith so as to fall outside a lap angle .alpha. of a magnetic tape. The magnetic sensor is used as a part of oscillating elements of an oscillator circuit. By noting that a magnetic resistance of a magnetic circuit at a rotational position where the magnetic head faces the magnetic sensor changes according to the degree of extension of the magnetic head from the surface of a drum, and taking the change in magnetic resistance as a variation in oscillating frequency, the rate of wear of the magnetic head is measured. Since the change in magnetic resistance is taken as the variation in oscillating frequency, the degree of extension of the magnetic head, i.e., the rate of wear of the magnetic head can be measured with high accuracy. Since an apparatus for measuring the rate of wear of the magnetic head is a noncontact type, there is no risk that the magnetic head to be measured will be damaged. Owing to the above construction, the rate of wear of the magnetic head can be measured in the noncontact state and with high accuracy.

A recording amplifier apparatus comprises first and second differential amplification means connected to each other with wires. The second differential amplification means is disposed close to a rotary drum by extending the wires. It is thus possible to restrain generation of a distributed capacity by the wires to a minimum.

Recording signal amplifier apparatus

The object of the present invention is to rotate a head with high precision along a predetermined rotation locus in a rotary drum apparatus for recording and/or reproducing predetermined signals on a tape recording medium. A locus of the head on the rotary drum connected to the first rotary shaft can be adjusted to coincide with the predetermined locus by dividing the rotary shaft into two shafts, and adjusting the two shafts with an adjustment mechanism. The adjustment mechanism can be in the form of threaded screws or electrical actuators. Sensors can be provided for measuring the horizontal degree and vertical degree of the rotary shaft holding material supporting the first rotary shaft for adjusting the two shafts using electrical actuators based on the measured results.
